A Balanced Rear Lift Option for Everyday JL Wranglers

The RK07017P rear coil spring set gives the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU a 3.5 inch rear lift on gas models, or 2.5 inch on 392 Hemi models, for a moderate stance increase that still rides comfortably on the street. Rock Krawler builds the coil with staged winding so the rear suspension settles properly under load and firms up progressively at full droop. RK07017P bolts directly into the factory rear coil location.

Key Features

FAQ

What is the RK07017P?

The RK07017P is a Rock Krawler rear coil spring set for the Jeep Wrangler JL and JLU that provides 3.5 inches of lift on gas models and 2.5 inches on 392 Hemi models. It is sold as a pair and bolts into the factory rear coil location.

What is the difference between RK07017P and RK07019P?

RK07017P provides a shorter rear lift than RK07019P. RK07017P is rated 3.5 inches on gas engines and 2.5 inches on 392 Hemi models, while RK07019P is rated 4.5 inches on gas and 3.5 inches on 392 Hemi models.

Does RK07017P fit the four door JLU Wrangler?

Yes, RK07017P fits both the two door JL and four door JLU Wrangler since both share the same rear coil mounting points.

Does RK07017P fit the 4xe hybrid Wrangler?

No, the 4xe hybrid requires a dedicated coil spring such as RK07961P due to its unique rear suspension layout.

Is RK07017P a good choice for a daily driven Wrangler?

Yes, the 3.5 inch lift height of RK07017P is a popular choice for owners who want a noticeable stance change without the ride compromise of a taller lift.

Does RK07017P include correction wedges?

No, RK07017P includes only the rear coil springs. Correction wedges and isolators are sold separately if needed.

What is the warranty on RK07017P?

RK07017P carries Rock Krawler's 5-year warranty against fracture when properly installed, with a receipt and installation photos kept on file.

Is RK07017P made in the USA?

Yes, RK07017P is manufactured in the USA as part of Rock Krawler's domestic coil spring production.

Will RK07017P work with the factory rear shocks?

Rock Krawler recommends upgrading to shocks matched for the new ride height, since factory shocks were tuned around stock coil springs rather than RK07017P.

Install Instructions

  1. Park the Wrangler on level ground, chock the front wheels, and raise the rear end on a jack and jack stands.
  2. Remove the rear wheels and support the rear axle with a floor jack to control its descent.
  3. Disconnect the rear sway bar end links and track bar to allow the axle to drop freely.
  4. Lower the rear axle slowly and remove the factory rear coil springs.
  5. Install the RK07017P coil springs into the factory upper and lower coil buckets.
  6. Raise the axle back into position and reconnect the track bar and sway bar end links.
  7. Reinstall the wheels and torque all suspension hardware to factory specifications.

Coilover Springs

Coilover Springs

Coilover springs are the replaceable compression springs that wrap around the shock body in a coilover assembly, determining ride height, spring rate, and the balance between comfort and handling stiffness. Swapping springs is the most direct way to tune a coilover setup for a new application without buying an entirely new system.Popular UpgradesLinear-rate springs in the 6 to 12 kg/mm range are the most popular choice for street performance and track day builds where predictable handling is more important than maximum compliance. Progressive-rate springs that soften on small bumps and stiffen under load are preferred for street cars that need to be both comfortable on rough roads and controlled in hard cornering. ID60 and ID65 springs are the most common inner diameter specifications across popular coilover platforms. What is the difference between linear and progressive coilover springs?A linear spring has a constant rate from full droop to full compression, providing consistent an...
