The ATI Supercharger Pulley is engineered to enhance the performance and reliability of the supercharger system on the Cadillac CTS-V LSA engine. This pulley is an OEM-size replacement with a 7.990" outer diameter (OD) and features an 8-groove (8-rib) serpentine design, ensuring compatibility with the stock supercharger drive system.
A standout feature of this pulley is ATI’s proprietary Superior Sprag Technology, which allows the supercharger to "freewheel" when the throttle is closed. This design offers several benefits:
Eliminates Blower Belt Failure: By releasing the supercharger when it spins faster than the engine RPM, the pulley prevents belt stress and breakage, particularly during aggressive driving or drag strip scenarios where the throttle is rapidly cycled.
Improved Boost Retention: During gear changes, the supercharger maintains boost longer as it does not ramp down as quickly as the engine, providing more consistent power delivery.
Reduced Supercharger Wear: The freewheel mechanism prevents the supercharger’s gear drive from meshing in the opposite direction during spin-down, reducing internal wear and extending the supercharger’s lifespan.
This pulley is ideal for both street and competition applications, offering durability and performance enhancements without altering the stock boost levels, as it is designed to match the OEM pulley size. The pulley is precision-machined from high-grade steel with a black finish, ensuring strength and resistance to wear under high-RPM conditions.
