Installation Instructions
- Disconnect the battery, raise the vehicle and support it on rated jack stands with the wheels chocked.
- Drain the transmission fluid and disconnect the shift linkage, clutch hydraulics, sensors and wiring that cross to the transmission.
- Support the engine, remove the transmission mount and crossmember, then unbolt and remove the transmission.
- Unbolt the pressure plate progressively in a criss cross pattern and remove the pressure plate and clutch disc.
- Lock the crankshaft, unbolt the factory flywheel and remove it, then clean the crankshaft flange thoroughly.
- Inspect the rear main seal and pilot bearing while access is available and replace either one if there is any doubt.
- Fit the new flywheel with fresh manufacturer specified hardware, torquing in the specified sequence and stages.
- Clean the flywheel friction surface with brake cleaner to remove all preservative and handling oil.
- Install the clutch disc with an alignment tool, then bolt the pressure plate down progressively to specification.
- Reinstall the transmission, mounts, linkage, hydraulics and wiring, refill the transmission fluid and bleed the clutch.
- Break the clutch and flywheel in with several hundred miles of moderate driving before hard use.
