Retain the original MAF sensor and both vehicle mounting grommets; the supplied rubber mount is a third, distinct housing support. Snap the selected filter into the new housing with its clamp loose. Install the supplied rubber mount in the small lower housing hole. Verify the two original vehicle grommets remain seated, reinstalling them if necessary, then push the housing onto its mounts. Transfer the original MAF using the supplied screws. Fit the coupling and clamps to the tube loosely. Install toward the turbo inlet first, then insert the tube into the filter. Align the tube, coupling and filter before securing every clamp. Reconnect the MAF and reinstall the original intake cover if desired. The exact manual specifies a connection and clamp check after 200 miles, and provides no numeric tightening torque.
The actual selected-part flow chart shows 179 versus 144 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O, about 24.3 percent above stock. The separately stated 350-CFM rating uses 7 inches H2O and is not verified by that comparison. The current product page links a dyno file named for 50-83012-RB; it is reviewed as the manufacturer-linked test basis, not independent proof of the selected part number. Its 2016 BMW 330i file shows separately marked horsepower and torque comparisons near 5,400-5,500 rpm; they are not one common-rpm point.
