Installation Instructions

1. Read the exact manufacturer instructions for 46-20174-B, verify the actual engine, supplied parts and every unresolved source conflict before disassembly.
2. Allow the engine to cool, secure the vehicle level with parking brake/chocks as needed, disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover. Verify the actual kit mounting revision before starting.
3. Release the driver-side hot hose at the intercooler and the clamp where the lower hose meets its metal tube. Remove the original bracket's two engine mounting nuts, then uncover and release the upper clamp near the turbo under its rubber cover/heat wrap. Remove both original hot halves and the engine-top sound-deadening material.
4. Fit the supplied elbow and two new lower clamps to the intercooler without tightening fully.
5. For this linked January 2015 hot revision, position the new hot tube's bracket on the front-engine stud and secure it with the listed supplied washer and nylon lock nut. Keep the tube clear of metal, then tighten the original upper connection and two new lower clamps. The old sheet notes possible engine-cover contact; confirm actual clearance rather than assuming interference-free fit.
6. For the passenger-side cold assembly, release the intercooler hose and engine-inlet clip and remove the original cold hose. Push the original black plastic housing down at both sides to recover its metal spring clip.
7. Fit that original clip to the replacement upper tube with the clip's center pin at the top. Assemble the reducer on the short end of the lower tube and the longer side of the elbow on its other end, using the four supplied cold clamps.
8. Install the lower cold section, push the upper machined connection fully into the engine inlet and join both sections. The exact sheet describes production-date-dependent routing either between or in front of the A/C lines; match the actual routing and confirm tube clearance. It does not direct opening the refrigerant circuit.
9. Tighten all four cold clamps after seating and alignment, then restore the engine cover and battery. No numeric clamp torque or mileage interval is published.
