Resolve any legacy XD application and the guide's 3-inch-band versus 3.5-inch-outlet conflict before ordering or disassembly. Confirm front sealing service, actual packing list and safe vehicle support; allow the exhaust to cool.
3. Remove the stock exhaust up to the catalytic converter, working rear toward front and retaining original hardware and isolators. Remove the isolation-mount brackets from the frame as required for removal, then restore the mounts to their original positions.
4. Install the selected two front pipes using original flange bolts without fully tightening. Place the two 2.5-inch bands and slide the selected muffler onto the front pipes.
