aFe 54-22972-B Current Rapid Induction dual-filter intake uses two Pro 5R oiled filters and two 3-inch black aluminum tube sections on qualified F-150/Raptor 2017-2020 and Expedition 2018-2021 3.5L EcoBoost applications. The supplied shield snaps onto the retained original lower airbox. Older selected naming is Magnum FORCE Stage-2.
Own exact manual and current primary explicitly identify F-150 and Raptor 2017-2020 plus Expedition 2018-2021, 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost. Twelve missing named groups are restored from exact selected-part tables, including eight F-150 2017-2020 groups, Police Responder 2018, and Expedition Platinum/Max SSV/Max XLT 2018-2021. All original ranges and gaps remain. Later 2022 Expedition/Timberline retailer-positive rows are held against the current manufacturer/manual 2021 endpoint; they are not newly certified. Other older retailer 2.7L or nearby Navigator wording does not establish this selected scope. No new engine/drivetrain pseudo-trim is created.

The two alternate dry filters shown in the shared bill are not additional selected filters. Filter-flange clamps are supplied with the filters and illustrated separately from the three size 044 and one size 064 loose coupling clamps. Original lower airbox, clips, original IAT sensor and original turbo inlet/vent sensor hardware remain. No replacement MAF sensor or new original lower box is itemized. The short hose bill calls its material fuel hose, but the actual crossover use is intake pressure balance, not fuel plumbing. Both exact bills print housing service number 05-12972B3, while current primaries differ in stated shield material; verify actual selected revision rather than assume one shared service number establishes identical material. This own procedure calls the short crossover piece a small straight coupling without stating another length. Its vent insert applies to this selected 3.5L application; no unrelated 2.7L procedure is substituted.
aFe Power develops application-specific intake, filtration, exhaust, cooling, tuning, suspension, drivetrain, and truck-performance components supported by product testing and documented installation requirements.
Two 24-30003 Pro 5R oiled filters, five layers each, 3-inch flange and 7-inch height.
Does the original lower airbox remain?Yes. The supplied shield attaches to original lower box with original clips.
How do the filters seat?Insert both from inside the shield, fully flush with retention bumps engaged.
Which sensor transfers? The original IAT transfers to the rear tube with quarter-turn removal; no new MAF sensor is itemized.
How must the vent insert face? Its slash cut faces the turbo inlet. It must seat firmly and not rotate; retain original vent sensor and wiring.
Does 414 CFM conflict directly with 900 CFM?They refer to different pressure conditions: linked chart 1.5 inches H2O versus primary 7 inches. No unseen baseline is inferred.
Are 2022 Expedition retailer rows newly approved? No. Exact retailer-positive later rows remain held against the current manufacturer/manual 2021 endpoint.
What torque and recheck apply? No numeric torque or battery-disconnection step is supplied. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles.
Verify aFe 54-22972-B. Read all sixteen pages and figures A-J. Work on a cool engine. Disconnect original temperature-sensor plug, loosen both original runner clamps, unclip upper original airbox and lift out original tube/top. Keep original lower airbox. Fit trim seal to supplied shield. Remove original IAT with a quarter-turn counterclockwise twist and install it into rear supplied tube. Seat shield using original clips. Install both selected filters from INSIDE the shield, fully flush with retention bumps engaged. Fit the short crossover connection and mini clamps loosely, then tube sections and both silicone elbows with correct clamp sizes. Align all parts and secure clamps; reconnect IAT harness. For the applicable 3.5L vent-insert procedure, work with original inlet tubes still installed. Locate driver-side original turbo inlet and release only its vent connector by pressing exposed clip tail. Engine cover and valve-cover end need not be removed. Keep vent sensor and wiring intact. Install insert with slash cut facing TURBO INLET, firmly seated and unable to rotate. Snap original vent fitting back and pull upward slightly to verify retention. Verify all clamps, screws and sensor connections. The manual provides no battery-disconnection step or numeric torque. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles.
Actual linked selected flowchart measures 414 versus 242 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O, about 71.1 percent. Primary also advertises 900 CFM at 7 inches H2O; these are different pressure conditions, and no 7-inch stock baseline is reconstructed. No current linked dyno establishes horsepower or torque for this selected kit. Current primary describes aluminum shield, whereas the earlier-engine counterpart describes steel despite shared housing service number; actual revision remains qualified. Current primary/manual California restriction applies. Turn14 authenticated access is unavailable and prices remain unchanged.
