What changes for a vehicle with a smog pump?Fit the supplied flat grommet into the tube port and install the aluminum fitting for a pump-equipped vehicle. For a vehicle without that pump, the manual uses the supplied cap instead. Reconnect an existing pump line where applicable.
Where do the three mounting grommets go?Install them in the three bottom housing holes and press them securely over the original battery-tray mounting pins.
How is the filter seated and tube aligned?Place the filter through the top, keep its retention bumps outside the housing and fit its clamp loosely. Insert the tube into the filter first, then rotate it down into the turbo-inlet coupling.
Which end of the reducer attaches at the turbo inlet?The smaller end and size 044 clamp go on the turbo-inlet pipe. The remaining size 048 clamp secures the tube end of the coupling.
Do broad Audi or later GLI retailer rows override exact restrictions?No. A3 40 TFSI is explicitly excluded. Later GLI positives beyond the current illustrated manual remain qualified holds; verify actual engine, housing and emissions-air connections.

Fit the flat rubber grommet into the one-inch tube port, then install the aluminum smog-pump fitting or cap according to equipment. Install the separate brass nipple using an 11 mm wrench as specified; no numeric torque is given. Secure the reducer's smaller end at the turbo inlet with the size 044 clamp. Press the housing onto the three original battery-tray pins. Install the selected filter from above with retention bumps outside the housing and its flange clamp loose. Insert the tube into the filter first, then rotate it down into the reducer using the size 048 clamp; align and tighten the clamps. Reconnect the crankcase-breather line to the bottom nipple and the smog-pump line to its fitting where equipped. Check all connections and recheck screws, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles. This manual specifies no battery-disconnection, MAF-transfer, sensor-screw replacement or numeric torque step.
