Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 54-11252-2. Work on a cool engine, disconnect the negative battery terminal and retain factory parts. Loosen the throttle-body and housing clamps. Slide the intake-temperature-sensor connector’s RED tab back, press its release and disconnect carefully without breaking the connector. Remove the original intake tube. Disconnect the original CCV hose at the rear of the original airbox, then pull the airbox straight upward to remove it. Install both new urethane spacers on the bottom of the shield with each spacer’s FLAT side facing the housing. Remove and retain the M6 inner-fender mounting-bracket bolt. Pull the original temperature sensor STRAIGHT out of its tube; do not rock or bend it side-to-side and do not borrow the 3.6L kit’s twist-release instruction. Install the 16.25-inch trim on the new shield, fit the shield and secure it with the retained M6 fender bolt. Seat the new rubber grommet in the new intake tube and insert the original sensor before fitting the tube. Install the tube with the supplied three M6 hex-head screws, flat and lock washers, hump coupling and two size-048 clamps. Align and secure the assembly before tightening the coupling clamps. Put the supplied mini clamp on the ORIGINAL CCV hose, attach that hose to the intake-tube port and tighten the mini clamp. Reconnect the original sensor harness and slide its RED locking tab forward.
