Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 54-12402. Read all sixteen pages and compare the full bill. Work on a cool engine. Release the four upper-airbox clips, disconnect the temperature-sensor harness and loosen the tube clamp. Disconnect the crankcase line from the box and release the temperature-wire fastener for slack; remove the upper intake/tube and lift off the engine cover. Remove the original crankcase vent line at the engine, separate its original elbow and reassemble the supplied hose/fitting pieces in the exact Figure D configuration. Attach the adaptor to the shield with five supplied button-head screws, fit the selected filter and clamp, and install the 29.25-inch trim seal. Latch the shield/filter assembly onto the retained lower airbox with the original clips. Position the supplied couplings/clamps in the illustrated routing. Install the new grommet in the tube; carefully remove the original temperature sensor and follow Figure H, which directs removal of its original O-ring before seating the sensor in the new grommet.
