aFe 51-82342 The sealed Stage 2 Si pairs an oil-free synthetic filter with an XLPE housing and tube plus an aluminum cover. It retains the original smog pump using the supplied relocation bracket and harness extension.
Toyota Tacoma 2012-2015 with the gasoline V6-4.0L and matching original smog-pump arrangement. The exact current manufacturer page and linked manual both cover 2012-2015, correcting the shorter old 2012-2013 headline. Existing Base, Pre Runner, 2015 TRD Pro and 2012-2013 X-Runner rows remain; do not infer later X-Runner years or a different engine.

| Bench-flow qualification | The linked bench chart actually identifies the alternate Pro 5R system, measuring 189 CFM versus stock 86 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O. That is not an independently identified dry-media result and is not the same numeric comparison as the current 19% headline. |
| Dyno qualification | The linked Mustang report is a 2006 Stage 2 prototype comparison: OEM complete versus prototype, both third gear 43-85. Printed maxima are 183 to 193 hp and 230 to 240 lb-ft, 10 hp/10 lb-ft peak-to-peak. It does not identify the later smog-pump kit, dry media, hood, tires, correction or full configuration. The current 13 hp/21 lb-ft headline is qualified against that older prototype report and cannot be guaranteed for every truck. |

One 21-90044 oil-free three-layer dry filter is selected. The intake overview says inverted top while its exact linked replacement page explicitly labels the selected filter SOLID TOP; the dedicated selected-filter specification governs this distinction. A complete XLPE housing and XLPE tube, aluminum cover/gasket, auxiliary plug, smog-pump bracket and harness extension are listed. Retain and relocate the original smog pump; do not delete it. The exact illustrated manual explicitly includes harness 05-01266 despite the current overview saying no cutting/splicing is needed. Connect the supplied extension as illustrated, preserve the original loom and do not invent a wire-cutting procedure.

The exact illustrated manual explicitly includes harness 05-01266 despite the current overview saying no cutting/splicing is needed. Connect the supplied extension as illustrated, preserve the original loom and do not invent a wire-cutting procedure.
Is the smog pump removed permanently? No. Retain it and transfer its THREE original rubber grommets to the supplied relocation bracket. Reconnect it through the supplied harness extension.
How is the extension connected and routed?Follow Figure F white-to-white and black-to-black, keeping the factory loom intact. Route the harness UNDER the smog-pump hose, then connect the extension.
Which MAF and cover parts transfer?Transfer the original MAF with supplied gasket, two spacers and screws. Move the original engine-cover stud from the airbox to the tube, reinstall the cover and reuse both crown nuts.
How are the nine button-head screws used?Three fasten the filter adapter and six fasten the cover. Two separate M6 screws/fender washers fasten the pump bracket.
Are the flow and dyno tests independently dry-kit results? The linked bench chart actually identifies the alternate Pro 5R system, measuring 189 CFM versus stock 86 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O. That is not an independently identified dry-media result and is not the same numeric comparison as the current 19% headline. The current 13 hp/21 lb-ft headline is qualified against that older prototype report and cannot be guaranteed for every truck.
What recheck and emissions restrictions apply?Recheck all connections after 100-200 miles; the manual gives no numeric torque. The exact current manufacturer page states that this product is not currently CARB exempt and is unavailable for purchase in California or use on any vehicle registered with the California DMV. Older race-use wording in a shared manual does not override that current restriction.
Verify aFe 51-82342. On a cool engine disconnect the negative battery, remove the two crown nuts and original engine cover, unplug the MAF, release the throttle clamp and disconnect original CCV/vacuum hoses. Unplug and temporarily move the smog pump, retaining its THREE rubber grommets, and remove its original bracket/duct to lift out the stock intake. Install the supplied harness extension as Figure F shows: WHITE to WHITE and BLACK to BLACK, keeping the loom intact and safely routed. Transfer TWO original lower-housing rubber grommets and metal sleeves. Fit a nut/washer to the isolation mount and mount it at the illustrated location; secure the housing with two original airbox bolts and the supplied M8 washer/nut. Attach the supplied smog-pump bracket with its two M6 screws and fender washers. Fit the adapter with THREE button-head screws, the selected filter, and aluminum cover with SIX button-head screws. Transfer the pump's THREE original grommets to the new bracket, reinstall the ORIGINAL pump and route its harness UNDER the pump hose to the extension. Transfer the original MAF with gasket sticky side toward the tube, two nylon spacers and screws; install the brass nipple and reducer/hump couplings with clamps. Reconnect original CCV with its spring clamp and supplied small vacuum hose, reconnect MAF, and TRANSFER the original engine-cover stud from the old airbox to the new tube. Align and secure all connections, REINSTALL the cover and its two crown nuts, reconnect battery and recheck connections after 100-200 miles. No numeric torque is specified.
