Pre-filter protection for the specified air filter
aFe 28-10243 is a black pre-filter wrap that intercepts larger debris before it reaches the main air filter. Match the exact filter and its base, top and height dimensions.
Key Features
- Dry-weave fabric; fiber composition not separately stated on this exact page.
- Helps keep larger particles such as bugs and twigs away from the primary air filter.
- Washable with soap and water; inspect according to operating conditions.
Fitment
Use only with the exact filter part numbers, base, top and height dimensions in the manufacturer table below. The listed intake-system numbers are manufacturer associations, not a vehicle-wide application list. Match the actual filter and required wrap quantity.

Heights in this table exclude the filter flange. N/A means the manufacturer table supplies no intake-system part number for that row; it does not establish universal vehicle fitment. Intake numbers shown are manufacturer-listed associations, not a new vehicle application table.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which filters does this wrap fit?Use only with the exact filter part numbers, base, top and height dimensions in the manufacturer table below. The listed intake-system numbers are manufacturer associations, not a vehicle-wide application list. Match the actual filter and required wrap quantity.
Does it replace the primary air filter? No. It is an outer pre-filter for the specified air filter. It does not replace the main filter element or certify the fitment of a complete intake.
What measurements should I compare?Use the exact filter part number, base dimensions, top dimensions and height shown in the table. The manufacturer table excludes flange height; similar-looking filters are not automatically interchangeable.
Does the package include the main filter or intake? The detailed listing identifies the pre-filter wrap. A separately supplied main filter, intake assembly, clamp or coupling is not confirmed by an itemized package list.
How do I clean the wrap? The manufacturer specifies soap and water for the dry-weave wrap. Clean it as needed, allow it to dry, and service the underlying air filter separately according to its actual media instructions. No filter oil is listed for the wrap.
How often should I inspect it?Inspect the wrap for debris accumulation, damage and secure fit based on dust exposure and operating conditions. It can help extend the main filter cleaning interval, but no guaranteed mileage interval is established.
Is the wrap a waterproof intake barrier? No waterproof or submersion protection is established by this listing. The exact page identifies debris protection; it does not establish a water-ingestion protection rating.
Does it guarantee extra horsepower or unrestricted airflow? No vehicle-specific power gain or numeric airflow improvement is established for this wrap. Its function is to intercept larger debris while covering the specified primary filter.
Installation Instructions
Confirm aFe 28-10243 and the exact primary filter against the manufacturer table. Fit the wrap over the intended filter without damaging or distorting the filter or its seal. Check that it remains secure and clear of surrounding moving or hot components. No numeric installation torque is provided for this wrap.
