aFe 54-74108 is the Momentum GT intake for specified Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD 2016–2019 6.0L V8 applications with a mechanical fan. One Pro 5R filter fits the XLPE window housing. The exact manual identifies the later MAF-specific tube and warns that several installation photos show the earlier sensor or a different housing.
The exact current product pages and shared 16-page manual specify Silverado/Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD 2016–2019 with the 6.0L V8; the manual expressly requires a mechanical fan. Retain the original named ranges and gaps. The exact selected dry-part retailer table restores its missing Silverado 3500 HD LT and Sierra 3500 HD Base groups for 2016–2019. The oiled version’s original sixteen groups remain unchanged. Named trims still require the actual gas 6.0L engine, fan and correct later MAF housing; this is not blanket diesel, 1500-series or different-sensor fitment. Some retailer descriptions add a Middle-East equipment-group phrase, while the current primary documents do not state that regional restriction; regional hardware remains an actual-vehicle verification rather than a new assumed scope.

Transfer the original bottom retaining plug and MAF, then seat the housing in the factory mounting grommets. The selected later tube is required even though several photos show a 2015 vehicle with a different MAF. Figures D, G and I explicitly note that the actual housing differs from the picture. The BOM’s fuel-hose material description does not instruct a fuel-circuit connection: installation uses the supplied 13-inch hose and mini clamps between the valve cover and intake tube. The two media rows and service accessory page do not mean both filters or maintenance supplies are included. No new MAF, extension harness, second breather hose, separate scoop or engine-cover restoration is specified.
aFe Power develops application-specific intake, filtration, exhaust, cooling, tuning, suspension, drivetrain, and truck-performance components supported by product testing and documented installation requirements.
One 24-91072 Pro 5R filter. The manual’s other media row is an alternative, not another included filter.
Is the selected filter oiled?Pro 5R uses five-layer pre-oiled cotton gauze. Pro DRY S uses three-layer oil-free synthetic media.
Which fan and engine are required? The exact manual specifies a 6.0L V8 with a mechanical fan in the stated 2016–2019 HD applications.
Why do the manual photos show another MAF or housing? The manual explicitly says a 2015 vehicle and different MAF appear in some images, and the actual supplied housing differs in others. Match the selected later tube and sensor.
Is the listed fuel hose connected to the fuel system? No. Its BOM description is fuel hose, but the installation uses the supplied 13-inch hose and two mini clamps for the crankcase breather between valve cover and intake.
Which original mounting component transfers?Transfer the bottom airbox retaining plug and seat the new housing in the factory mounting grommets; transfer the original MAF using the supplied screws.
Does the cited EO cover all 2016–2019 fitment? No. The exact manual and official table limit this listed HD 6.0L exemption to 2016. Verify the actual application and applicable emissions requirements.
What torque and recheck interval apply? No numeric torque is specified. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 200 miles.
Verify aFe 54-74108. Work on a cool engine and follow negative-battery isolation using the actual vehicle procedure; the manual’s awkward plural wording does not establish another battery. Disconnect MAF, loosen the airbox/tube and throttle-body clamps, and release the original intake tube from the radiator-hose clip without opening the coolant circuit. Disconnect the crankcase breather from the resonator and engine, then remove the complete original tube and airbox. Insert the selected filter into the new housing with the large supplied T-bolt clamp, leaving clamps loose. Fit the optional plug if a sealed auxiliary inlet is desired. Install the 26-inch seal trim and transfer the original bottom retaining plug. Remove MAF with T15 and install it on the correct later tube using the supplied M4 screws. Fit the silicone reducer and two #072 clamps on the tube’s small end without tightening. Firmly seat the housing in the factory grommets, slide the tube into the filter first and then the coupling over the throttle body, align and tighten clamps. Connect the valve cover to the tube using the supplied 13-inch hose and two mini clamps. Reconnect MAF, verify all connections and complete battery reconnection under the vehicle procedure. Check bolts, clamps and connectors after 200 miles. No numeric torque is given. For an actually EO-covered application, place the enclosed EO label on or near the device on a clean, smooth surface as instructed.
Both current pages advertise 20 hp/23 lb-ft and explicitly attribute that dyno result to the earlier oiled kit tested on a 2015 Silverado with a different MAF. Their linked flow images are identical R-labeled charts showing 254 versus stock 185 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O, about 37.3 percent, compared with the rounded up-to-38-percent page claim. Both linked dyno images show the earlier oiled kit on a 2015 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L, not an independent selected later tube or dry-media test. Marked points 263.59 versus 243.99 hp differ by 19.60 hp; 304.20 versus 281.58 lb-ft differs by 22.62 lb-ft. Independent maxima 282.81 versus 285.16 hp are 2.35 hp lower, while 311.92 versus 298.59 lb-ft differs by 13.33 lb-ft. Runs state OE headers/exhaust, rear-wheel drive, hood open, big black fan, fourth gear and 10-percent preload; intake notes more than 300 miles on the system. Baseline September 9, 2015 conditions are 98.59°F/28.96 in-Hg/23% humidity, SAE 1.05; intake October 20 is 84.31°F/28.93 in-Hg/26%, SAE 1.03. Point and independent-peak comparisons are different, and these different-condition prototype results are not guaranteed gains for every vehicle. The manufacturer manual and official D-550-33 text limit the listed HD 6.0L exemption to 2016. The current pages’ some-or-all-applications exemption wording does not establish 2017–2019 California coverage. The official table text was read through normal web access; its image remains unobserved and direct document download was previously stopped after HTTP 403.
