aFe 54-74210 is the Momentum GT intake for specified Chevrolet Camaro 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 applications. One Pro 5R oval-flange filter fits the XLPE window housing. A molded tube with resonance chamber, snap-in inlet scoop and silicone elbow retain the original MAF, breather and sound-hose connections.
Both current manufacturer pages specify Camaro SS 2016–2024 V8-6.2L; both exact linked 16-page manuals end at 2023. Exact selected-part retailer tables support the SS endpoint through 2024. The separate 2020 LT1 6.2L trim is positively listed in an exact R table and in a retailer application that explicitly offers both selected part numbers; the GM model brochure identifies LT1 as the new-for-2020 V8 trim. LT1 is not the four-cylinder/V6 LT or 1LT trim. The qualified 2020 row identifies that actual V8 trim only; later LT1-specific year bounds remain unextended without stronger exact-year confirmation. Broader retailer tables also claim ZL1, conflicting with the manufacturer SS application and supercharged layout; no ZL1 scope is added. Confirm the actual sensor, vent and sound-hose connections.

The housing mounting grommets remain on the chassis tabs. If they come out with the original airbox, remove and reseat them on those tabs; push the new housing pins completely through them. Transfer the original elbow fitting from the sound-hose connection by releasing its original captive clamp, then secure that elbow in the supplied silicone coupling with the supplied #16 clamp. The new billet aluminum vent fitting is a separate supplied component. The filter clamp is illustrated without a separate BOM code. The optional plug closes the auxiliary inlet; the manufacturer manual associates maximum airflow with leaving it open. No coolant hose, radiator-air-outlet removal, NPT plug, mounting spacers, MAF extension, sealant or threadlocker is listed. Service supplies are separate.
aFe Power develops application-specific intake, filtration, exhaust, cooling, tuning, suspension, drivetrain, and truck-performance components supported by product testing and documented installation requirements.
One 24-91092 Pro 5R filter. The alternate media row is not another filter in the selected kit.
Does the dry filter require oil?No. D uses three-layer oil-free synthetic media; R uses five-layer pre-oiled cotton gauze.
Is LT1 the same trim as LT or 1LT?No. LT1 is the V8 trim introduced for 2020. The qualified 2020 LT1 row must not be used for a four-cylinder or V6 LT/1LT.
Is the inlet scoop supplied?Yes. The 05-74210B3 scoop snaps into the new housing; the optional plug closes its separate auxiliary inlet.
What happens if the factory mounting grommets come out?Reseat them on the chassis mounting tabs, then push the new housing pins completely through the grommets.
Is the original sound-hose elbow transferred?Yes. Release its original clamp and secure that elbow in the new silicone coupling with the supplied #16 clamp.
Are the linked D charts independent dry-media tests? No. Both selected pages link the same R-labeled flow image and R-prototype dyno comparison; the distinction remains explicit.
What torque and inspection interval apply? No numeric torque is specified. Check bolts, clamps and connectors after 200 miles.
Verify aFe 54-74210. Work on a cool engine. Disconnect the sound hose with pliers, disconnect the MAF and breather hose, loosen the throttle-body and airbox clamps and remove the original tube. Release the air hose from its captive airbox clamp and move it aside. Pull the original airbox up off its mounting grommets, returning any displaced grommets to the chassis mounting tabs. Snap the supplied inlet scoop into the new housing and fit the optional auxiliary-inlet plug if a closed auxiliary opening is desired. Push the selected filter and clamp into the housing until seated, leaving the clamp loose. Push the housing mounting pins completely through the original chassis grommets. Transfer the MAF with T20 and the two supplied M4 screws; no screw length is given. Install the supplied aluminum vent fitting using a 20mm or adjustable wrench. Insert the new tube into the filter. Release the original elbow fitting from the sound-hose connection using a flathead screwdriver at its clamp and transfer it into the supplied silicone elbow, securing it with the supplied #16 clamp. Fit the silicone elbow between throttle body and tube with both supplied T-bolt clamps. Align and tighten all clamps. Restore the MAF, breather-hose and sound-hose connections and check clearance/security. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 200 miles. No numeric torque, battery-disconnection or engine-cover step is specified.
Both current product pages display a 14-percent airflow headline. Both linked airflow images are actually labeled for the R-version and show 270 versus stock 237 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O, approximately 14 percent; this is not a 7-inch-H2O test or a separately labeled dry-filter result. Both linked dyno images are also the same R-version Prototype 2 run. On a 2016 Camaro SS, the May 27, 2016 baseline and June 6 intake run both state OE manifolds/exhaust, fourth gear, Track Mode, stock wheels, blower fan and SAE factor 1.01. Near marked 4,670 rpm, power 376.40 versus 367.04 hp differs by 9.36 hp and torque 423.31 versus 412.77 lb-ft differs by 10.54 lb-ft, approximately the 9 hp/11 lb-ft headline. Independent maxima 424.22 versus 419.79 hp differ by 4.43 hp; 423.31 versus 413.41 lb-ft differ by 9.90 lb-ft. Baseline conditions are 69.85°F/29.28 in-Hg/49% humidity; intake conditions are 70.84°F/29.16 in-Hg/53%. These are the linked R-prototype results, not a promise for every production revision. Different-date point and peak comparisons are not guaranteed gains or calibration compatibility. Both exact product pages and manuals state this intake is not CARB exempt and is unavailable for purchase in California or use on California-registered vehicles.
