The throttle-body connections use the two supplied #060 clamps; do not substitute the different T-bolt combination from the other SUV kit. This manual lists 5/8-inch breather hoses and 26-inch seal trim, not that other kit’s 1/2-inch hoses or 28-inch trim. Transfer the original bottom retaining plug and MAF with its factory O-ring. Figures E, G and J explicitly warn that the actual housing differs from their images. No new MAF, harness extension, separate scoop, hose cutting, temperature-sensor branch or engine-cover restoration is listed. Maintenance supplies are separate.

Verify aFe 54-74104. Work on a cool engine and disconnect the negative battery terminal under the vehicle procedure. Disconnect MAF, loosen the original airbox/tube and throttle-body clamps, release the MAF harness clip, and disconnect both crankcase breathers at the valve covers. Carefully remove the original plenum with its breather plugs attached, then remove the airbox. Insert the selected filter into the new housing with its large T-bolt clamp loose, fitting the optional auxiliary plug if a sealed inlet is desired. Install the 26-inch seal trim and transfer the original bottom retaining plug. Firmly seat the housing in the original chassis grommets. Remove MAF with T15 and transfer it using the supplied M4 screws and factory O-ring. Fit the 5.3L coupling or 6.2L reducer and #060 clamps to the tube without tightening. Slide the tube into the filter first, then the coupling onto the throttle body; align and tighten clamps. Connect the two supplied breather hoses between valve covers and tube on both sides, seating them securely over the beads. Reconnect MAF, verify all connections and complete battery reconnection under the vehicle procedure. Retighten connections after approximately 100–200 miles. No numeric torque is specified. Place an EO label as instructed only for an actually covered application.
Both current pages advertise 35-percent airflow and 12 hp/15 lb-ft. Neither page links a separate airflow chart, so no different kit’s flow, pressure or CFM result is borrowed. Both linked dyno images are byte-identical R-labeled 2014 Silverado 5.3L tests. Marked point differences are 238.43 minus 227.47 = 10.96 hp and 334.08 minus 318.72 = 15.36 lb-ft. Independent peaks 316.54 versus 304.90 hp differ by 11.64 hp, while 339.98 versus 331.58 lb-ft differs by 8.40 lb-ft. The dry page’s link is not independent dry-media testing. Both runs state OE exhaust, third gear and 10-percent load before the run. Baseline September 12, 2013 conditions are 95.20°F/29.00 in-Hg/16% humidity, SAE 1.04; intake September 13 is 83.70°F/28.89 in-Hg/26%, SAE 1.03. These different-condition point and peak comparisons are distinct and not guaranteed gains. The manual cover narrows its EO note to 2014–2016 truck 5.3L and excludes flex-fuel engine family GGMXT05.3382. Official D-550-33 text also lists specified 2014–2016 truck 6.2L and 2015–2016 SUV 5.3L/6.2L configurations with specific exclusions. That source difference is not permission to certify every retained later row or eAssist; verify exact engine family and EO table.
