Retain the original plastic PCV tube, factory hose clamps, mounting bolts, inlet, grommets, metal sleeve and engine cover. The small hose with light-blue connectors and the turbo-inlet roll pin are removed and are not reused. The illustrated tube connection includes an aluminum coupler; the bill lists the tube as one service assembly, without a separate coupler part number. What torque or recheck mileage is specified?The exact manual gives neither a numeric tightening torque nor a mileage-based inspection interval. Follow its connection and clamp checks without borrowing values from another kit.
Verify aFe 51-76901. Read all twenty pages and figures A-L. Work on a cool engine and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Release the green locking tabs carefully; remove the small light-blue-connector hose. Disconnect the PCV hoses, remove its bolt and lift the coolant hose out of the original intake-tube groove. Remove the intake and PCV tube together, discard the turbo-inlet roll pin, then separate and retain the PCV tube. Move the green-connector hose to the left of the upper radiator hose. Keep the original air inlet in place while removing the airbox. Transfer its grommets and metal sleeve. Seat the new housing and filter but defer the radiator-support bolt. Fit the clamps and original PCV tube loosely, install and align the intake, then secure its turbo and filter connections. Restore the PCV bolt, large and small vacuum hoses with factory clamps, 90-degree vacuum elbow and housing bolt. Connect the supplied assembly to the green-tab fitting and the engine, ensure the green lock engages, and secure the brass barb in the remaining intake opening with its mini clamp. Check every connection and restore the engine cover. Choose whether to install the auxiliary-inlet plug. The manual provides no numeric tightening torque or mileage-based recheck interval. The filter must lock into the housing. Restore electrical power before operating the vehicle after the prescribed battery disconnection.
The exact current dry manufacturer page, all twenty manual pages, full bill, assembly illustrations and figures A-L were inspected. The linked airflow chart separately identifies dry 202 CFM, oiled 208 CFM and stock 172 CFM at 7 inches H2O. The selected dry comparison is approximately 17.44%; the oiled result is separate. The linked dyno actually identifies earlier oiled 54-76901, so it does not certify gains for this dry configuration. Its test-file label says 2016 Fiat 124Spider without establishing a 2016 application. At the marked 4,470 rpm it shows 147.38 versus 137.83 hp and 173.16 versus 161.95 lb-ft, differences of 9.55 hp and 11.21 lb-ft. Separate run maxima are 147.52 versus 140.13 hp and 181.86 versus 177.59 lb-ft, differences of 7.39 hp and 4.27 lb-ft at potentially different peak rpm. The advertised 10 hp / 11 lb-ft should not be read as selected dry peak-to-peak gains. Baseline August 16, 2017 and intake September 6, 2017 use SAE 1.01 and 1.03 respectively, with different conditions. Both note original exhaust, fourth gear and a blower fan; the baseline identifies automatic transmission. The current primary states not CARB exempt and restricts California purchase/use on California DMV-registered vehicles. Older manual race-use wording establishes no current street exemption.
