aFe 51-76217 Momentum GT intake for the specified Jeep Wrangler JL / Gladiator JT 3.6L gasoline V6 uses one oil-free three-layer synthetic Pro DRY S filter, a black XLPE sight-window housing and a roto-molded resonance-chamber tube. This replaces the factory intake housing; it is not the Super Stock system that retains the original airbox.
The current exact manufacturer page names Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT through 2026 with the 3.6L gasoline V6; Gladiator coverage starts in 2020, not 2018. The shared illustrated manual covers Wrangler 2018–2021 and Gladiator 2020–2021; exact-part retailer tables support the later named rows, subject to actual mounting, CCV, IAT and coolant-retainer connections matching the boxed revision. This does not approve a 2.0L turbo, 4xe, 3.0L diesel, V8 or a later-year emissions exemption. Original named-row boundaries and gaps are retained where source tables differ.

| Power qualification | All three linked dyno files show the black oiled V1 kit tested with a three-inch cat-back exhaust, no tune, OE wheels, 4WD, third gear, hood open and a blade fan. The baseline already has a high-tuck exhaust and different vehicle mileage. Marked point differences are 11.58 HP and 12.17 lb-ft near 5,000 rpm; peak-to-peak changes are 5.13 HP and 12.50 lb-ft. This is not a stock-exhaust or separate dry/red-media result. |
| Numeric torque | None stated; do not overtighten fitting or clamps |
| Emissions | The official indexed D-550-50 exhibit names this exact black kit for Wrangler 2018–2020 and Gladiator 2020, naturally aspirated 3.6L only. The full current signed PDF and independent revocation status were not established; verify the applicable conditions and identification label. Other filter rows in the shared manual are alternative media, not additional elements. Transfer the original intake-tube mounting sleeves/grommets, original housing sleeve/grommet and original IAT sensor. Retain the original mounting bolts and the harness/coolant retainers. The final step says to tighten three clamps, including the filter connection; it does not mean three new T-bolt clamps are itemized. No new sensor, thermostat, coolant hose, calibration or exhaust system is listed.
aFe Power develops application-specific intake, filtration, exhaust, cooling, tuning, suspension, drivetrain, and truck-performance components supported by product testing and documented installation requirements.
Yes. This Pro DRY S version has three synthetic layers and uses no filter oil. One element is supplied.
How is the filter inspected? The clear sight window permits visual inspection without removing the housing. Service the filter according to the current manufacturer procedure.
Which original sensor is reused? The IAT sensor is transferred into the supplied adapter. The adapter bead must sit correctly in the new grommet, and the sensor locks by the illustrated quarter-turn/tab procedure. A new MAF sensor is not included.
How is the vent fitting sealed? The manual calls for an appropriate liquid Loctite product or Teflon tape to seal the threaded aluminum fitting. Follow the current exact instructions and do not overtighten it.
Why does the procedure mention three clamps if the BOM lists two?The BOM itemizes two T-bolt coupling clamps. The final tightening step includes the filter connection, so it is not a claim of three separately supplied T-bolt clamps.
Where should the coolant line run?The exact manual routes it on top of the intake tube and restores its retaining clip at the designated point. Reconnect the IAT harness and CCV fitting as shown.
What do the exact flow and dyno charts establish? The linked flow comparison is 414 versus 297 CFM at seven inches H2O. All three linked dyno files show the black oiled V1 kit tested with a three-inch cat-back exhaust, no tune, OE wheels, 4WD, third gear, hood open and a blade fan.
Do current later-year applications have the same emissions status? The official indexed D-550-50 exhibit names this exact black kit for Wrangler 2018–2020 and Gladiator 2020, naturally aspirated 3.6L only. The full current signed PDF and independent revocation status were not established; verify the applicable conditions and identification label. Later physical fitment years are not established as exempt by these rows.
Verify aFe 51-76217. Read the entire 12-page manual with the engine cool and follow its negative-battery-disconnection instruction. Remove the three original intake bolts, loosen the original tube clamps and disconnect the CCV grey clip and IAT connector. Release the two IAT-harness retainers and coolant-line retainer before removing the tube and housing. Restore any original housing-mount grommets to their bracket holes. Transfer original mounting sleeves/grommets to the new tube and housing. Seat the supplied adapter bead correctly in its new grommet; remove the original IAT sensor with a quarter-turn counterclockwise and lock it clockwise into the adapter until its tab clicks. Seal and install the threaded aluminum vent fitting as directed without overtightening. Seat the housing pegs in their grommets and secure it with the original fender bolt. Lock all filter tabs into the housing and leave the filter clamp loose for tube positioning. Fit the bellows coupling and two T-bolt clamps, insert the tube into the filter and rotate the coupling onto the throttle body. Route the coolant line on top of the tube, reconnect the CCV and IAT harness, restore all retainers and original mounting bolts. Tighten the filter and coupling connections without overtightening; no numerical torque is supplied. Verify every connector and bolt, then retighten connections after approximately 100-200 miles.

Later physical fitment years are not established as exempt by these rows. The manufacturer's factory water-fording-height statement is a design claim for the specified installation, not an increased vehicle water limit or proof of waterproofing. All three linked dyno files show the black oiled V1 kit tested with a three-inch cat-back exhaust, no tune, OE wheels, 4WD, third gear, hood open and a blade fan. Match the actual factory connections and supplied revision before installation.
