Keep the provided filter-flange clamp in place as illustrated in addition to the itemized housing T-bolt and two coupling clamps. Reuse original MAF, housing grommet and metal sleeve, guide bushing, fender bolt, line connectors and one-inch hose spring clamp. The manual does not supply replacement hoses or an engine cover.

Verify aFe 51-73203. Read all sixteen pages and figures A-J. Work on a cool engine. Remove engine cover, loosen original tube clamps, disconnect three fittings and slide back the spring clamp to disconnect the one-inch hose. Remove the tube. Retain the fender housing bolt, disconnect MAF and release its harness clips. Pull the sound chamber upward from the air box and remove the original housing. Relocate the terminated connector on the fender well to the forward hole illustrated and release the lower harness push clip for MAF wiring slack. Transfer mounting grommet, metal sleeve and rubber guide bushing. Transfer MAF with the supplied M4 x 10 mm Torx screws. Install all three aluminum fittings in their correct tube positions; NPT threads do not bottom out and must not be overtightened. Place coupling and clamps on the small tube end, initially loose. Seat housing with its snorkel over the original air duct and guide bushing flat on the fender; route MAF harness over the snorkel and restore the original fender bolt. Fit the large housing clamp loosely and insert selected filter with its provided flange clamp in place. Insert tube into filter first, reconnect all fittings and hoses, then slide coupling over throttle body. Check hoses cannot pull off; the bottom-fitting hose may require rerouting. Tighten clamps, reconnect MAF, restore one-inch spring clamp and engine cover. Check all bolts, clamps and connectors after exactly 200 miles. The manual states no battery-disconnection step or numeric torque.
The exact current dry manufacturer page advertises 25 percent more flow and 15 hp / 24 lb-ft. Both actual linked test images identify 54-73203, the separate oiled version, so they do not independently certify this dry selection. The oiled flow chart shows 221 versus original 177 CFM at 1.5 inches H2O, approximately 24.9 percent. Its dyno marks 15.35 hp and 23.10 lb-ft differences at separate rpm points, while run maxima differ by 22.60 hp and 12.93 lb-ft.
