The dry 21-series filter shown as another configuration in the shared bill is not the selected oiled filter. The filter-flange clamp is supplied with the filter and illustrated in the procedure; it is not a second loose large T-bolt. Original MAF cartridge, sensor, scoop, three mounting grommets, turbo-adaptor boot and its clamp are retained. The manual directs removal of the old cartridge O-ring; it does not expressly direct restoring that seal. Generic primary oil-free, filter-height and silicone wording conflicts with the exact selected filter and adaptor instructions, so supplied revision requires confirmation.

Verify aFe 54-72006. Read all sixteen pages and figures A-I, including reused figure H. Disconnect negative battery, remove engine cover and release the red MAF harness lock. Remove original assembly while clearing mounting pegs and retain original turbo boot and clamp. Lubricate the aluminum tube end as directed and insert it into the original turbo boot first, leaving the joint loose. Slide supplied T-bolt onto the tube. Remove the original cartridge using its two T20 screws and remove its O-ring as directed. Clean the housing/filter mating surfaces as instructed. Fit filter to housing and secure the large joint first. Fit original cartridge into the filter flange and secure its supplied clamp without overtightening the fragile cartridge. Install the polyurethane adaptor over cartridge locator tabs. Transfer all three mounting grommets and original scoop, rotating the scoop to lock. Apply the specified hairspray to adaptor mating surface and the directed lubricant at mounts. Seat the LOWER mount first, then verify all three mounts. Slide tube over adaptor to both locator tabs, align and tighten gently. Let the spray dry before driving. Reconnect MAF harness and red lock, secure original turbo-boot clamp, restore cover and battery connection. No numeric clamp torque is given. Recheck connections after 100-200 miles.
