Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 54-13047R. Read the complete manual and work on a cool engine. Lift the engine-cover front edge, pull forward and retain it. Loosen the throttle-body and housing clamps, disconnect the temperature sensor, unclip its wire, disconnect the CCV hose and remove the intake tube. Remove the six original lid screws, lid and stock filter. Release the original inlet duct from the stock housing/scoop while keeping it in the vehicle, then lift the lower housing from its grommets. Transfer the three stock grommets to the new housing; lower it into position, insert the original inlet scoop and press onto all three mounts. Install and trim the housing-edge seal. Remove the stock CCV line, insert the supplied coupling fitting into the silicone hose and transfer the original elbow. Fit the rubber grommet and temperature-sensor fitting into the new tube; a small amount of silicone grease may ease fitting insertion. Transfer the original temperature sensor. Remove the filter flange clamp, lower the filter through the top of the housing and snap its base into place, then refit its clamp. Put the smaller reducer end on the throttle body with the size 056 clamp and tighten; leave the size 060 tube-side clamp loose. Slide the tube into the throttle-body coupling FIRST, rotate its large end into the filter, align and tighten all clamps. Reconnect the modified CCV hose with the original elbow at the crankcase port and the hose routed underneath the smaller vacuum line, then reconnect the temperature-sensor harness and reinstall the engine cover. Check everything is secure and recheck screws, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles. No battery step, new MAF sensor or numeric clamp torque is prescribed.
