Installation Instructions

1. Confirm aFe 49-48061-B against the exact vehicle and installed equipment. Inventory the actual components and follow the selected manufacturer instructions and current vehicle service requirements.
2. Read the full selected one-page guide, confirm the JK V6 application and inventory the selected black components. Let the exhaust cool, use appropriate protection and safely support the vehicle and the original muffler separately; professional installation is recommended.
3. Loosen the original connection and remove the factory axle-back toward the rear while retaining the rubber isolation mounts. The guide permits lubricating the isolators to help removal.
4. Place the supplied 2.5-inch band on the new muffler inlet, attach it to the factory over-axle pipe and locate its hangers in the original rubber isolation mounts. Leave the joint loose for adjustment.
5. Install the two black tips with their 3-inch bands. Align the system before tightening and retain the guide’s 1/2–1 inch tailpipe-to-body clearance. The selected guide gives no numerical tightening torque.
