Installation Instructions

1. Confirm aFe 49-48062-B against the exact vehicle and installed equipment. Inventory the actual components and follow the selected manufacturer instructions and current vehicle service requirements.
2. Read the complete selected two-page guide and inventory the correct finish components. Let the exhaust cool, wear protective equipment and use at least two suitable stands or jacks as directed to support the vehicle and exhaust during removal and installation. Professional installation is highly recommended.
3. Remove the stock exhaust from rear toward front, retaining the factory rubber isolation mounts. The guide permits lubricating those mounts for removal and assembly. Lay out the new components and keep clamps loose until all sections are installed.
4. Install hanger bracket 05-46163 at the crossmember where the EVAP canister is located. Position plate 05-46177 above the crossmember, align the bracket and the two supplied flanged screws, then secure it as shown in Figure A. No EVAP canister removal or relocation is specified.
5. Connect the front round muffler assembly to the factory Y-pipe using the diagrammed 2.5-inch bands and retained/supplied isolation mounts. For four-door applications, install the extension first. Add the over-axle tube and selected rear muffler, locating hangers in the rubber mounts and leaving joints loose.
6. Install the two selected black tips with their 3-inch bands. Align the complete system with the guide’s 1/2–1 inch tailpipe-to-body clearance, then tighten all clamps from front to rear. The selected guide supplies no numerical tightening torque.
