Silver Bullet spacer for exact engine and intake requirements

The aFe 46-35001 is a serrated/helix-entry 6061-T6 aluminum spacer for the exact 4.0L Jeep applications below. It supplies two gaskets and separate linkage spacers for the mechanical-linkage installation; the Wrangler headline alone omits supported Cherokee and Grand Cherokee models.

Key Features

  • 6061-T6 billet-aluminum serrated/helix entry design; claimed turbulence and reduced whistle do not guarantee an improvement on every setup.
  • Install one gasket on each side of the spacer, with the AIR IN engraving facing the throttle body.
  • The exact manual specifies 10 Nm (89 in-lb) for throttle-body bolts and separately for the illustrated mechanical-linkage fasteners.
  • Only mechanical-throttle-linkage installations use the two/three linkage spacers under the linkage plate. Confirm the actual arrangement instead of applying that step to every vehicle.
  • The exact parts list governs supplied hardware and sealing components. Generic Filter Included/Coupler Included fields do not make this a complete intake kit.

Fitment

Years / source scope Model Exact requirements
1991–2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L inline-six
1999–2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L inline-six
1991–1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.0L inline-six
1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0L inline-six; do not infer 1996 Wrangler from combined 1991–2006 headline

46-35001: The current exact manual separates YJ 1991–1995 from TJ 1997–2006 and names Cherokee XJ and Grand Cherokee 4.0L applications. All named trims still require the actual 4.0L engine; 2.5L/2.4L four-cylinder and V8 fitment is not inferred from a trim name. The manual’s broad TJ Sahara line is not a new proof of every named-trim production year.

What's Included

  • One Silver Bullet spacer and two gaskets.
  • Four 6 mm x 50 mm bolts, three 6 mm x 40 mm bolts and seven 6 mm washers.
  • Three 6 mm x one-inch linkage spacers. Depending on the actual mechanical linkage, the instructions use two or three spacers rather than requiring all three on every vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 46-35001?

A model- and engine-specific Silver Bullet throttle-body spacer, not a complete intake or replacement throttle body.

Does it include a filter or coupling?

The exact parts list below governs. Generic manufacturer page fields do not establish a supplied intake filter or coupling for this spacer.

Are gains guaranteed?

No. Turbulence, throttle-response and whistle statements are manufacturer design claims, not guaranteed horsepower, fuel-economy or sound results for the actual engine.

Which sealing parts are used?

Two supplied gaskets, one on each side of spacer; AIR IN toward throttle body.

What is the correct torque?

10 Nm (89 in-lb) for throttle-body bolts and separately the illustrated mechanical-linkage bolts.

Are all original search rows certified?

The current exact manual separates YJ 1991–1995 from TJ 1997–2006 and names Cherokee XJ and Grand Cherokee 4.0L applications. All named trims still require the actual 4.0L engine; 2.5L/2.4L four-cylinder and V8 fitment is not inferred from a trim name. The manual’s broad TJ Sahara line is not a new proof of every named-trim production year.

Can another spacer’s instructions be substituted?

No. Gaskets, O-rings, brackets, screw sizes, control cables and intake restrictions differ by exact part number.

Does the EO reference cover every application?

The current page cites D-550-41. Its available 2019 exhibit identifies Wrangler 1991–2006, Cherokee XJ 1991–2001 and Grand Cherokee 1999–2004 with 4.0L. Actual generation, engine and installation conditions still govern.

Installation Instructions

  1. Read the exact manufacturer instructions for 46-35001, verify the actual engine, intake, hardware and applicable emissions scope before removal.
  2. Remove the air-inlet tube and throttle-body inlet assembly, then remove the four original 6 mm throttle-body bolts.
  3. On a mechanical-linkage arrangement only, remove the two or three linkage retaining bolts as illustrated.
  4. Fit a gasket, spacer and the second gasket between manifold and throttle body, with AIR IN toward the throttle body. Use the supplied longer bolts and washers, tightening the throttle-body bolts to 10 Nm (89 in-lb).
  5. On mechanical-linkage installations, fit the actual required two or three one-inch spacers below the linkage plate with the supplied longer bolts. The manual separately specifies 10 Nm (89 in-lb) for those linkage fasteners.
  6. Restore the inlet assembly and air-cleaner connection. Check correct linkage operation, clearances, fasteners and all connections before use.

46-35001: installation details and any unresolved source scope must be matched to the actual vehicle before use.
