Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 49-36625-C.

1. Read BOTH pages of the exact February 2020 manual, all 23 steps and both reference images. Inspect shipping condition, cool the exhaust, use eye and hand protection and support vehicle at its specified jack-stand positions. Support the original exhaust separately. Professional installation is recommended; leave new joints loose until fully aligned.
2. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY. Mark the original exhaust 2 inches behind the tangent shown in reference image 1, toward the rear of the vehicle. Remove FOUR brace bolts and the brace, then THREE nuts joining the original exhaust to the front pipe. Remove rubber isolation mounts from chassis and remove the stock exhaust.
3. TRANSFER FOUR muffler-section rubber isolation mounts to the Takeda system. CUT the removed original exhaust at the marked location and DEBURR the cut edges. This installation requires an original-exhaust cut.
4. Attach Y-pipe 05-145863 to the retained cut original section with ONE supplied 2-inch band. Engage rubber mounts on chassis. Fit PASSENGER tailpipe 05-145865 with one 2.5-inch band, followed by DRIVER tailpipe 05-145864 with the second 2.5-inch band; engage hangers.
5. Position the PASSENGER tailpipe bracket IN FRONT OF the DRIVER bracket, as reference image 2 shows. Join with TWO supplied M8 screws, FOUR washers and TWO nuts, leaving loose. Install both selected clamp-on tips with their supplied band clamps.
6. RESTORE brace with FOUR original bolts. Check clearance to wiring, hoses, brake lines, body and tires. Tighten evenly from FRONT to REAR. The manual specifies 40-45 ft-lb for BAND CLAMPS; it supplies no separate numeric bracket, brace or front-flange torque.
7. RECONNECT BATTERY, start engine and check for leaks; repair any leak before use. Lower vehicle safely. Re-tighten ALL CLAMPS AND HARDWARE after 50-100 miles. No sensor or valve transfer or coding procedure is printed.
