aFe 49-36609 Takeda replaces the V6 coupe exhaust with 2.5-inch into dual 1.75-inch brushed mandrel-bent 304 stainless tubing, a resonated front section and two polished stainless mufflers. Dual double-wall angle-cut polished tips and TIG-welded construction complete the full system.

Transfer original O-ring crush gasket from old muffler section to new tail-back section, replacing if necessary. No new gasket is itemized. Supplied three nut/bolt pairs secure tailpipe flange.

Transfer original rubber hanger mounts. Remove and RESTORE BOTH front and rear floor braces using all EIGHT original bolts. Retain original converter-flange nuts for front connection.

No numeric torque or mileage re-tighten interval is supplied. Align, tighten connections, restore both braces and recheck work before lowering. Do not borrow a band torque or mileage interval from another exhaust manual.

Current full-system primary expressly says no cutting/drilling. Own manual supplies no battery, sensor-wiring, valve-transfer, coding or welding installation step. No replacement converter is itemized.

Manufacturer advertises +10 hp/+21 lb-ft for the full cat-back, but no actual dyno or airflow chart is linked. Test vehicle, run MAX values, point RPM, dates, correction factors, weather, fuel, intake, load and other exhaust equipment are unprinted. No guaranteed gain or measured cabin-drone result is established.

Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 49-36609.

1. Read own April 2016 one-page manual and all 19 steps/diagram. Confirm V6 coupe and current 2017 qualification. Cool exhaust, wear eye/hand protection and support vehicle/exhaust independently at approved stand locations.
2. Remove EIGHT bolts securing FRONT AND REAR FLOOR BRACES, retaining braces/hardware. Remove THREE nuts joining stock mufflers to mid-pipe, disengage muffler mounts and remove old muffler section.
3. Transfer original O-RING CRUSH GASKET from OE muffler section to new tail-back section; replace if necessary. Transfer original muffler rubber mounts to new mufflers. No new gasket is itemized.
4. Remove THREE original nuts at converter-to-mid-pipe flange, disengage its hanger and remove old mid-pipe. Transfer original mid-pipe rubber hanger mount. Install new resonator pipe at converter with THREE original nuts and tighten.
5. Join mid-pipe to resonator pipe using ONE supplied 2.5-inch band clamp, leaving it loose. Join new tailpipe using THREE supplied 10 mm nuts and THREE supplied 10 mm bolts, engage rubber hanger and tighten flange. Thread pitch/bolt length are not printed.
6. Fit LEFT muffler with first supplied 2-inch band and original rubber mount, then RIGHT muffler with second 2-inch band and original mount. Align both outlets and tighten all bands.
7. RESTORE BOTH FRONT AND REAR FLOOR BRACES using all EIGHT original bolts. Recheck complete installation and lower vehicle. No numeric torque or mileage re-tighten interval is printed.
8. Current primary specifies no cutting/drilling. Own manual supplies no cutting, drilling, battery-disconnection, sensor-wiring, valve-transfer, coding or installation welding step. Brief initial manufacturing-grease smoke is noted.
