The exact procedure transfers two of the three original grommets and sleeves and secures the replacement housing using two of the three original screws; do not borrow a three-mount procedure from another Kona or Elantra kit. Verify aFe 56-70029D. Work on a cool engine. Release the breather clamp, retain it and disconnect the hose. Loosen the airbox and throttle-body clamps and remove the original tube. Unlock the two inlet rivets and lift the scoop. Retain the three housing screws and remove the original housing/inlet. Transfer two grommets and sleeves to the replacement housing and secure it using two original screws. Attach the inlet with the two new push rivets. Lock the filter into the housing and leave its flange clamp loose. Install the aluminum fitting using a 16mm wrench; a small NPT hex-to-tube gap is normal. Place the elbow’s small end on the throttle body and snug #044 first so the coupling cannot move off. Leave #048 loose on the larger elbow end. Insert the tube’s small end into the elbow and align its larger end with the filter without inserting it yet. Snug #048, then insert the larger tube end into the filter. Align all components before tightening every clamp. Reconnect the breather using its original clamp and choose whether to install the auxiliary-inlet plug. Check every connection, then recheck screws, clamps and connectors after 100–200 miles. No numeric torque or sensor-transfer step is supplied.
