aFe 56-70051D is the Takeda Momentum intake for specified naturally aspirated Subaru Legacy and Outback H4-2.5L applications. One Pro DRY S filter fits the XLPE window housing. Two XLPE tube sections connect through a bellows; the original PCV hose, mounting isolators and inlet scoop remain in use.

Transfer the isolators with their thicker sides facing the housing bottom. If the housing locating isolator pulls off the vehicle bracket with the factory airbox, remove it and reseat it on that bracket. The new housing mounting pin must pass completely through that isolator. The B2 tube uses the supplied push clip, not a claimed reused factory clip. No MAF extension, screw-access plugs, new scoop, damping nut, ECM bracket, replacement PCV hose or NPT fitting is listed. A current accessory widget names another bellows and a size-52 clamp; the exact supplied-kit manual specifies the bellows above with two #048 and two #044 clamps. The filter clamp is illustrated without a separate BOM service code. Service supplies are separate.

Installation Instructions

Verify aFe 56-70051D. Work on a cool engine. Remove the original scoop and retain its two clips. Disconnect the MAF and release the harness clip; loosen the factory airbox clamp and disconnect the tube, unclip the housing and remove its rear section and filter. Remove and retain both housing screws. Detach the airbox from its locating isolator and return that isolator to the vehicle bracket if it comes out with the airbox. Remove the factory tube clip, loosen the throttle-body clamp, disconnect the original PCV hose and remove the tube. Transfer both metal sleeves and rubber isolators to the new housing with thicker sides facing down. Install the housing first, seating its mounting pin all the way through the bracket isolator, and secure it with the two original screws. Seat the filter and its clamp in the housing without tightening. Fit the hump at the throttle body with a #044 clamp and tighten that first clamp; leave the second #044 loose. Transfer the MAF to the B1 tube with the two M4 x 8mm screws and T20. Insert the B2 tube into the hump first, restore the original PCV hose and clamp, secure B2 with the supplied push clip and tighten the hump connection. Fit the bellows to B2 with a #048 clamp and tighten that first clamp; leave its second #048 loose. Insert B1 into the bellows, then into the filter, align everything and tighten the remaining clamps. Fit the removable front auxiliary-inlet plug, reconnect the MAF and restore the original scoop using its two clips. Check all components and clearance. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 100–200 miles. No numeric torque, battery-disconnection or engine-cover step is specified.
