Installation Instructions
- Confirm aFe 48-43031 against the exact vehicle and installed equipment. Inventory the actual components and follow the selected manufacturer instructions and current vehicle service requirements.
- Confirm exact 2011–2017 gas V6 3.7L application, selected raw finish and emissions eligibility. Read all 18 selected steps and confirm final original heatshield arrangement with aFe before work. Cool and safely support vehicle/exhaust; leave attachments loose until complete for alignment.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Loosen the two original exhaust-to-connection-pipe band clamps, remove original heatshield nuts and the driver heatshield for access, release two original connection-pipe nuts per side and support the connection pipes.
- Remove six original driver head nuts and lift the original manifold/gasket out through the hood; repeat the manifold-removal process for the passenger side. Place the supplied gaskets on original head studs and install selected raw headers with original head nuts, tightening center outward to exact applicable service requirements.
- Restore original connection pipes with supplied M8 hardware. Confirm correct final original shielding separately; no restoration step is printed. No sensor removal, steering-shaft separation, spark-plug removal or engine-cover procedure is borrowed from another header.
- Align safe clearance from wires, hoses, brake lines, body and tires, then evenly tighten from the front. Apply the printed 40–45 ft-lb only to appropriate band clamps, not head nuts or supplied M8 flange hardware.
- Reconnect battery after complete correct reassembly, start/check/repair leaks, safely lower and re-tighten all clamps/hardware after 50–100 miles. No numerical torque for other fasteners or fixed clearance is invented.
