aFe 49C42076NM This 3-inch mandrel-bent 409 stainless pipe replaces the factory muffler section and retains the original rear exhaust. Factory-style flange and hanger connections are combined with one supplied band clamp; removal requires cutting.

Installation Instructions
Verify aFe 49C42076NM.
- Read both pages of the selected September 2026 B/NM instructions, all 15 numbered steps, the parts diagram and all three reference photos. Inspect the DT 5.7L flange, hangers and single/dual factory exhaust arrangement. Allow the exhaust to cool, wear eye and hand protection, and support the vehicle and exhaust safely. Leave new joints loose for alignment.
- Remove the ORIGINAL CAT-BACK EXHAUST up to its FLANGED JOINT. Mark the exhaust BEHIND THE MUFFLER as shown in reference image 3. The selected manual requires cutting; no distance from a different GM or RAM kit is substituted.
- Use a reciprocating saw to cut at the marked position behind the muffler, then DEBURR ALL EDGES. The manufacturer’s flanged replacement connection does not eliminate this original-exhaust cutting step.
- Install the selected delete assembly 05-144843 using the ORIGINAL FLANGE NUTS. Slide its hanger into the ORIGINAL RUBBER HANGER MOUNTS. The manual supplies no nut count or numeric flange-fastener torque.
- Install the BACK HALF of the original exhaust using the ONE supplied 3-inch band clamp 05-41055. Adjust the ORIGINAL EXHAUST TIPS to the CENTER of the bumper cutouts where fitted. No new tips or extra tailpipe kit are supplied.
- Align all components and check clearance from wires, hoses, brake lines, body and tires. Start at the FRONT and evenly tighten clamps and fasteners. The manual specifies 40–45 ft-lb for the BAND CLAMP; no separate flange torque is given.
- Start the vehicle and identify and repair any leaks before lowering it safely. Re-tighten ALL clamps and hardware after 50–100 miles. The manual gives no battery-disconnection, sensor-transfer, valve-motor transfer or coding procedure.
