ARP 1/2 x 6.5in Long Broached Individual Stud for Chevy Small Block, Big Block & Ford V8 Engines
The ARP 1/2 x 6.5in long broached individual stud serves as a direct replacement for connecting rod fasteners in high-performance applications. It fits popular Chevy Small Block V8s from 1955-2004, Big Block Mark IV 1965-2002, Ford 351W 1969-1996 and 460 1968-1997 engines. This stud clamps rods securely to withstand high cylinder pressures and rpm in street, drag and circle track builds.
Key Features
- ARP2000 Alloy Construction: Forged from proprietary steel with 200,000 psi operating strength and 220,000 psi tensile rating for repeated heavy loads
- Rolled Threads: Increases fatigue life by 10 times over cut threads while maintaining precise thread engagement
- Broached Hex Head: Allows accurate wrenching without damaging stud or rounding corners during installation and removal
- 1/2"-20 UNF Thread: Matches OEM and aftermarket rod big ends on domestic V8s for plug-and-play fitment
- 6.5in Overall Length: Correct dimension for standard clearance on press-fit and bushed connecting rods in stroker and stock configurations
Product Notes
- Sold individually for targeted replacements in ARP rod stud kits like 206-5601 SBC or 235-5605 BBC
- Pair with ARP 1/2in rod nuts and hardened washers for complete assembly
- Store in dry conditions to prevent corrosion on black oxide finish
Installation Notes
- Professional installation recommended.
- Apply ARP Ultra-Torque assembly lube to threads and nut faces then torque to 65-75 ft-lbs based on rod design
- Requires ARP-compatible 12-point or hex rod nuts. verify shank clearance in rod before final assembly

ARP
ARP (Automotive Racing Products) is the world’s premier manufacturer of high-strength engine and driveline fasteners—head studs and bolts, main studs, rod bolts, and more—engineered and manufactured in-house from start to finish for race-proven reliability. With vertically integrated processes that include cold heading, machining, heat-treating, thread rolling after heat treat, and rigorous QA, ARP maintains aerospace-level certifications (ISO 9001 and AS9100) and validates every part for repeatable clamp load and fatigue resistance. Signature alloys such as 8740 chromoly, ARP2000, L19, and Custom Age 625+ deliver ultimate tensile strengths up to the super-alloy range, while ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant helps achieve consistent pre-load during installation. From street performance builds to professional motorsport programs, ARP fasteners provide precise fitment, superior metallurgy, and the durability needed to keep engines together at elevated cylinder pressures and...

ARP Head Studs
ARP head studs replace factory head bolts with precision-machined threaded studs that provide more consistent and repeatable clamping force on the cylinder head gasket. Unlike head bolts that apply torque through both rotational and tensile forces, head studs allow the nut to be torqued concentrically on a stud that is already stationary, producing more even clamping load across the entire head gasket surface. Popular ARP Head Stud Applications ARP head studs are available for a wide range of performance and turbocharged engines including the Subaru EJ series, Honda K series and B series, Mitsubishi 4G63 and 4B11, Honda Civic and Integra, Toyota 2JZ-GTE, Nissan SR20DET and RB series, GM LS series, Ford Coyote and 5.0, and Dodge/Chrysler HEMI applications. ARP offers both 8740 chromoly and ARP2000 alloy head stud kits, with the ARP2000 material providing approximately 20 percent higher tensile strength for high-boost applications above 30 psi. Why are head studs preferred over head b...

Hardware
Automotive hardware encompasses the fasteners, clips, retainers, and mounting hardware that hold virtually every component on a vehicle in place, from engine bay bolts that endure extreme heat and vibration to interior trim clips that must release cleanly during service without breaking. Quality automotive hardware from brands including ARP, Dorman, and OEM equivalent suppliers provides reliable clamping force and corrosion resistance that cheap hardware does not, reducing the likelihood of seized or stripped fasteners that turn a simple service into a time-consuming repair. For engine and high-stress suspension applications, ARP's heat-treated fasteners provide torque capacity and fatigue resistance that exceed standard hardware grade specifications by a significant margin. For interior, body, and trim applications, OEM-equivalent push pins, clips, and retainers from Dorman provide exact-fit replacements that insert and release correctly without the frustration of incompatible gene...

Individual automotive hardware pieces allow builders, fabricators, and repair technicians to purchase the exact fastener or clip needed for a specific application without purchasing a complete assortment or kit that contains many items that will never be used. From a single M10x1.25 socket head bolt for a caliper bracket to a specific Dorman push pin retainer for a door panel, individual hardware items are the solution for targeted repairs that require an exact match to the factory or application specification. Professional shops stock individual hardware items to avoid the delay of ordering complete kits for single-item needs, and enthusiast builders maintain a selection of critical fasteners for their specific vehicle platform to avoid build interruptions from a single missing bolt or clip. Quality individual hardware from ARP, Dorman, and metric fastener suppliers provides the same reliability as complete kit purchases at the appropriate quantity for each specific need. Popular U...
