SKU: CB-E46-CLUTCHEXT-TFCV
1999-2006 BMW 3-Series E46 w/BMW Trans Adapter (Extended) Clutch Line w/Control Valve
This product is designed for those who want to eliminate engine bay clutter, improve engine bay aesthetics, improve pedal feel, and/or adapt a new transmission (if applicable). This a FULL replacement one-piece line from clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder. Other lines offered just replace the soft line between the stock hard lines.
It is made using -3AN stainless steel, Teflon PTFE lined, PVC coated line from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder. Our PTFE Teflon inner core hose is manufactured from DuPont's Type 62 fine grade resin, 304 stainless steel wire braid. The hose has a burst pressure of 9000psi. It is chemically resistant and virtually unaffected by all commercial chemicals, acids, alcohols, coolants, hydrocarbons, solvents, synthetic compounds, and hydraulic fluids. More than half of those will hopefully never be on your car (hopefully).
This Clutch Line works for ALL matched BMW Transmissions onto:
• BMW E36 with M50, M52, S50, S52, M44, M60, M62 / S62 (Left Hand Drive)
Our clutch line now works for BOTH early and late variations of the E36 Clutch Master Cylinder. Formerly you had to buy the late model version to work with our adapter but now we include both...just use the one that fully seats in your clutch master and insert the clip then you're good to go!
Tilton Delay Valve / Flow Control Valve Option
Tilton’s flow control valve may look like a fairly insignificant part, but it’s actually one of the smartest purchases any racer/drifter can make. By allowing the clutch to slip slightly during quick engagements or clutch kicks, the flow control valve reduces shock loads to the driveline, lowering the chance of losing traction when downshifting and/or the chance of damaging driveline components. All of this adds up to fewer break-downs and less money spent on replacement parts, making the flow control valve a great investment regardless of the type or level of racing/drifting you do.
Shock load is a result of an abrupt clutch engagement when the crankshaft and input shaft speeds are not precisely matched. The flow control valve is designed to reduce the chance of losing traction when downshifting and/or the chance of damaging driveline components. Fluid flow is not restricted during clutch disengagement. Therefore, shift times are still quick and pedal feel is not altered. The flow control valve will have an effect on quick clutch activations only. It will not alter or interfere with fine clutch modulation. You do feel it slightly slower to come up, but again it will not effect power put to the wheels.
We tested this on several of our drift builds all of 2024; our 500hp E36 and 450hp JZX100 both with R154, stock diff, and stock axles never had one break. We did NOT install this on our 410hp ZN6 with a CD00A, stock diff, and DSS 800hp axles for the first two events and BOTH events it broke an axle. We installed the Tilton Delay Valve and it's now been three events with no breaks. For ANY street, race, or drift car we build...this Tilton Flow Control Valve will now be installed on every one.
This option puts the delay valve at the halfway point on the clutch lines and changes it to a two piece clutch line from the one piece as explained above. There is no guarantee placed by Chase Bays that you will not break any drivetrain related part, race cars break. But this factually reduces drivetrain shock.
Clutch Components
A performance clutch system is one of the most impactful drivetrain upgrades available for any manual transmission vehicle. From street-friendly organic disc kits to heavy-duty ceramic setups built for drag racing and track use, matching the right clutch components to your power level and driving style keeps engagement consistent and power transfer reliable.Popular UpgradesStage 1 and Stage 2 clutch kits with upgraded pressure plates and organic or hybrid friction discs are the most popular choice for street builds making 300 to 500 horsepower. Stage 3 and Stage 4 ceramic or Kevlar disc setups handle the demands of forced induction or high-compression builds. Lightweight aluminum flywheels paired with upgraded clutch kits improve rev response and make gear changes faster on both street and track applications. What clutch stage do I need for my build?Stage 1 clutches are rated for lightly modified street engines up to about 350 horsepower. Stage 2 kits cover 350 to 500 horsepower with...

Clutch Lines
Hydraulic clutch lines carry fluid pressure between the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder, translating pedal input into precise clutch disengagement. Upgraded stainless-steel braided clutch lines replace expandable rubber OEM lines to deliver firmer, more consistent pedal feel, especially on high-output builds where fluid temperature rises under heavy use.Popular UpgradesStainless-steel braided clutch lines with AN-to-OEM adapter fittings are the most popular upgrade for performance street and track vehicles. These lines resist expansion under pressure, eliminating the spongy pedal feel that develops when rubber OEM lines age or are subjected to elevated fluid temperatures. Remote reservoir relocation kits that pair with upgraded clutch lines are also popular for engine bays with tight clearances. Why does my clutch pedal feel spongy after a fluid flush?A spongy clutch pedal after bleeding typically indicates residual air in the hydraulic line or a worn clutch line that i...
