Firm Up Rear Leaf Spring Movement on Your Tundra
The Energy Suspension ENG8.4119R leaf spring bushing set replaces the factory rubber leaf spring bushings on the 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra with Hyper-Flex polyurethane in red. Part No. 8.4119R addresses the common problem of worn OEM rubber bushings that allow excessive leaf spring movement, resulting in looseness under acceleration, vague steering return, and axle wrap during hard acceleration. Polyurethane bushings have a higher durometer rating than factory rubber, which means the spring pack flexes in a more controlled and predictable way under load. The ENG8.4119R uses a greaseable design with a groove machined into the inner sleeve contact surface, allowing fresh grease to be applied periodically to prevent binding and eliminate polyurethane squeak. Energy Suspension produces this kit to fit both the front eye and rear shackle positions on the 2000-2006 Tundra leaf springs, making it a comprehensive replacement that addresses all primary bushing wear points in a single purchase.
Key Features
- Hyper-Flex polyurethane construction provides higher durometer than factory rubber for better spring control

FAQ
What is the ENG8.4119R?
The ENG8.4119R is an Energy Suspension Hyper-Flex polyurethane leaf spring bushing set (Part No. 8.4119R) designed for the 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra, replacing factory rubber bushings at the front eye and rear shackle positions of the leaf spring pack, available in red.
Will polyurethane leaf spring bushings make the ride harsher than OEM rubber?
Some increase in NVH transmission is common with polyurethane compared to OEM rubber. The greaseable design in ENG8.4119R significantly reduces this effect when lubrication is properly maintained. The tradeoff is improved spring control and reduced axle wrap.
What grease should I use with these bushings?
Use a polyurethane-compatible synthetic grease or Energy Suspension's supplied lubricant. Petroleum-based grease attacks polyurethane and causes premature degradation and swelling.
Does this kit fit both 2WD and 4WD Tundra models from 2000-2006?
Verify the specific application against Energy Suspension's fitment documentation for Part No. 8.4119R before ordering. Spring pack dimensions can vary between 2WD and 4WD configurations in certain model years.
How often should I re-grease these bushings?
Energy Suspension recommends re-greasing polyurethane bushings at every oil change or approximately every 5,000 miles in high-use or off-road applications to prevent binding and creaking.
Will these bushings help with axle wrap under hard acceleration?
Yes. Firmer polyurethane bushings reduce the spring windup that causes axle wrap under hard acceleration, which is a common complaint on trucks with worn rubber leaf spring bushings.
Are these leaf spring bushings covered by a warranty?
Energy Suspension offers a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Contact Energy Suspension directly for specific terms and claim procedures.
Can I install these without pressing equipment?
Some bushing positions may require a hydraulic press or bushing press tool to properly seat the bushing shell. A shop press or bushing driver set is recommended for clean installation without damaging the polyurethane.
Install Instructions
- Safely lift and support the vehicle with the rear axle hanging freely to take tension off the leaf springs.
- Disconnect the rear shackle from the frame and the front eye from the frame hanger.
- Remove the leaf spring pack from the vehicle.
- Press out the old rubber bushings from the front eye and rear shackle using a bushing removal tool or press.
- Clean all bushing bore surfaces in the spring eye and shackle thoroughly.
- Apply a generous coat of polyurethane-compatible grease to the new ENG8.4119R bushings and sleeves.
- Press the new bushings into the front spring eye and rear shackle using a press or bushing driver.
- Reinstall the leaf spring pack to the vehicle with all mounting hardware finger-tight.
- Lower the vehicle to ride height and torque all leaf spring mounting bolts to Toyota factory specification with the vehicle at ride height.
- Inspect all bushing positions for proper seating before returning the vehicle to service.
