Installation Instructions

2. Inspect the rear brake caliper, caliper bracket, rotor, and brake lines for wear, cracks, or fluid leaks before installing new pads.
3. Remove the caliper bolts and slide the caliper off the rotor. Support the caliper with a wire hook to prevent strain on the brake hose.
4. Remove the worn brake pads and all retaining clips and shims from the caliper bracket.
5. Clean the caliper bracket sliding surfaces with a wire brush and brake parts cleaner. Apply a thin coat of caliper grease to the metal contact points only. Do not grease the friction surface or rotor face.
6. On rear calipers with integrated parking brake mechanisms, use a rear caliper wind-back tool to rotate the piston clockwise while pressing inward. Do not force the piston straight in. Open the brake fluid reservoir before retracting the piston.
