Installation Instructions

  1. Raise the vehicle on jackstands and remove both rear wheels.
  2. Remove the rear caliper slide pin bolts and pivot the caliper away from the rotor. Do not let it hang by the brake hose.
  3. Remove the old pads and clean the pad abutment clips and carrier contact surfaces.
  4. Use a wind-back tool to retract the rear piston, as Honda Civic rear calipers incorporate the parking brake mechanism and require rotational retraction.
  5. Seat the HB900C.572 HPX pads in the carrier, confirm proper retention, and reinstall the caliper.
  6. Torque the slide pin bolts to Honda Civic factory specification for the applicable 2016-2017 model year.
  7. Reinstall rear wheels, torque lug nuts, and pump the brake pedal until firm.
  8. Perform the Hawk bed-in sequence on track before full-load braking: multiple moderate decelerations from 60 mph with complete cool-down intervals between each run.
