Is a wheel alignment required after installation?
Yes. An alignment should be performed after installation and after any ride-height adjustment, and HKS recommends a break-in period of approximately 50 km at reduced speed before hard driving.
Installation Instructions
- Support the vehicle on an automotive lift or a garage jack with rigid jack stands. Do not use the factory vehicle jack for installation or ride-height adjustment.
- Remove the wheels and disconnect the factory strut assemblies following the vehicle manufacturer's service procedure.
- Use a spring compressor to transfer components as needed and install the HKS Hipermax S front and rear assemblies in place of the factory struts.
- Reinstall the supplied stabilizer links where applicable and torque all suspension fasteners to specification without using an impact wrench on the upper mount.
- Set the damping-force dial to the factory default position and adjust the height-adjustable lower brackets to the desired ride height within the specified range.
- Reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle, and perform a wheel alignment.
- Drive a break-in period of approximately 50 km at reduced speed, then recheck for any contact between tires, wheels, or suspension components.
- Fine-tune the damping dial and ride height to taste once break-in is complete.
