FAQ
What is the 5540056?It is a KYB Gas-a-Just monotube rear shock absorber engineered as a direct-fit replacement for the 2015-2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.
How many shocks does my truck need? The rear axle uses two shocks, so most owners order two to replace both sides at once.
Does it fit both RWD and 4WD trucks?Yes, this shock is designed to fit both RWD and 4WD Colorado and Canyon models across the listed fitment years.
What makes a Gas-a-Just shock different from a standard twin-tube shock? The Gas-a-Just uses a monotube design with a separate high-pressure gas chamber, which resists fade and keeps damping consistent even under repeated heavy use.
Is it a direct bolt-in replacement?Yes, it installs using the factory mounting points with no cutting, drilling, or modification required.
Will it change my truck's ride height? No, this is a factory-replacement shock designed to restore stock ride height and handling characteristics, not to lift or lower the vehicle.
What warranty comes with the 5540056?KYB backs this shock with its Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects.
Can it be used for towing or off-road use?Yes, the gas-charged monotube design is built to handle the added heat and load from towing and light off-road driving without fading.
