Downpipe-back exhaust systems cover everything from the turbocharger downpipe connection point to the rear of the vehicle, making them the most comprehensive exhaust upgrade available for turbocharged platforms. Buyers who shop for downpipe-back systems are typically turbocharged car owners who want a single-purchase solution that replaces the mid-pipe, resonator, and cat-back sections in one matched package for maximum exhaust flow and consistent sound tuning. The advantage of a downpipe-back system over a cat-back alone is that it eliminates the entire OEM exhaust from the turbo exit rearward, removing the most restrictive sections on most factory turbocharged applications. Popular platforms include the Ford Focus ST and RS, Ford Mustang EcoBoost, Subaru WRX and STI, Volkswagen GTI and Golf R, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and other turbocharged performance cars where the factory exhaust after the downpipe is a known restriction.Popular UpgradesTop downpipe-back exhaust systems in ...
