The factory plastic panel leaves the BMW G8X oil cooler vulnerable to road debris and ground contact. Mishimoto MMSD-G80-21TI replaces that weak point with a titanium shield that retains cooling airflow, uses flush recessed hardware, and works with either the original or Mishimoto oil cooler.

Mishimoto develops cooling, protection, and performance components with application-specific engineering and installation support. This titanium plate is designed around the exposed oil-cooler location and airflow needs of the BMW G8X platform and is backed by the company's lifetime warranty.
It is a titanium engine skid plate engineered to shield the low-mounted oil cooler on supported BMW M2, M3, and M4 applications.
Does the skid plate block oil-cooler airflow? No. Vented crosscuts and an air diffuser are designed to keep air moving through the cooler core while intercepting road debris.
Will it work with the original oil cooler?Yes. The plate is compatible with the factory oil cooler as well as the Mishimoto replacement oil cooler.
Is drilling required?Standard applications install without drilling or cutting. Competition Sport applications may require enlarging holes in the front splitter.
Can the diffuser be removed?Yes. The diffuser bolts to the plate and can be replaced after damage or removed when a lowered vehicle needs additional clearance.
What material is used? The plate is titanium, which Mishimoto states has 78 percent greater tensile strength than aluminum.
How long does installation take?Mishimoto states that standard applications install in under one hour when the current instructions are followed.
What warranty applies? The product is covered by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty, subject to the manufacturer's current terms and proof-of-purchase requirements.

Shop BMW M exhaust and intake applications by exact M model, chassis and engine. Start with M2, M3, M4 or M5 for more focused browsing. Model, Chassis and Exhaust Configuration G87 M2, F8X/G8X M3/M4 and F90/G90/G99 M5 references describe distinct applications. Match the actual body, engine, production and factory exhaust controls. Touring, Track and SwitchPath use different sound-control configurations. Confirm valve-motor requirements, outlet layout and supplied components before comparing finish. Intakes, Midpipes and Complete Systems A G8X intake needs the exact engine, sensors, turbo connections and mounting. M badging alone does not establish that another model’s intake fits. Midpipes and conversion sections are different from complete cat-backs. Provide the installed exhaust part number and retained components when checking an upgrade. Choose Your Part Identify exact M model, chassis, body and engine. Match valve controls and exhaust outlet configuration. Confirm intake senso...

Find BMW M2 parts by chassis generation and engine. F87 and G87 intake, exhaust, lighting and brake applications need their own coverage. Engine and Exhaust by Generation Separate the earlier F87 engine applications from the later G87 before choosing induction or cooling components. A shared M2 designation does not establish inlet connections or engine compatibility. For an exhaust, match chassis, body routing, outlets and valve requirements. Compare a complete system with a mid-pipe or conversion section so the starting setup is clear. Lighting and Control Interfaces DRL modules must match original headlamp technology, module, connector and production coverage. Appearance and yellow-light styling do not identify the electrical application. A pedal-response controller needs exact accelerator-interface coverage. It changes response behavior and should not be treated as a verified engine-output increase. Choose Your Part Identify F87 or G87 and exact engine. Compare exhaust routing, ...

Find BMW M3 parts by generation, engine and body. Modern F8X and G8X intake or exhaust applications should be matched precisely before comparing sound, appearance and installation scope. Induction and Exhaust by Generation Match intake housings, turbo-inlet connections and sensor provisions to the exact engine. Shared M3/M4 coverage still needs the correct generation and installation details. Compare full exhaust systems with mid-pipes and conversion sections. Review resonation, valve operation, tips and the compatible starting exhaust for each configuration. Body and Brake Equipment Exterior components need the actual sedan, coupe, convertible or Touring application where relevant. Compare mounting and required original trim rather than transferring one body’s spoiler application. Brake pads and rotors follow the installed caliper, dimensions, material and axle. Confirm iron or carbon-ceramic equipment before selecting friction components or a conversion. Choose Your Part Identify...

Explore BMW M4 parts by F8X or G8X generation, engine and body. Intake, exhaust and brake choices should match the exact coupe or convertible application. Induction and Exhaust Configuration Use exact engine-generation coverage for intake housings, inlet connections and sensors. Shared M3/M4 applications still need the correct installation details. Compare complete exhausts with mid-pipes and conversion sections. Review valve behavior, resonation, tips and the compatible starting system before choosing the configuration. Body and Brake Options Body-sensitive parts require explicit coupe or convertible coverage. Routing, mounting and chassis axle loads should follow the actual body and drivetrain. Match brake components to the installed caliper, rotor dimensions, material and axle. Keep carbon-ceramic and iron applications separate unless the manufacturer specifies a complete compatible conversion. Choose Your Part Identify engine, generation and body.
