The 4007 Old Man Emu front coil spring set delivers approximately 2.5 inches (60mm) of front lift for the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner (5th Gen) and 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Rated for a heavy load of 220-330 lbs over factory, the ARB4007 is the default-recommended spring in the OME MT64 coilover system, the one ARB engineers specify for virtually all 4Runner builds. Each set is wound from X5K micro-alloyed spring steel, double scragged, shot peened, and finished in a hard-wearing matte black powder coat. Made in Australia by ARB, and backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
Important compatibility notice: The OME 4007 is a lift spring, not a direct factory replacement. It must be paired with OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus struts and will not function correctly with OEM factory struts. Do not order these springs unless you are also running OME-compatible struts.
Factory Toyota front springs are tuned for a stock, unloaded 4Runner, not the one you actually drive. Add a steel bumper, a winch, a light bar, and recovery gear, and you have well over 200 lbs of constant front load that the OEM spring was never designed to carry. The result is front-end sag, reduced suspension travel, and accelerated wear.
The OME 4007 is purpose-built for exactly that load range. With a spring rate of 588 lbf/in (105.7 N/mm) and a heavy-load rating of 220-330 lbs, it keeps the front end level under the weight of a built rig while delivering the progressive, controlled ride quality OME suspension is known for. The 2.5-inch front lift also provides additional clearance for larger tires, improved approach angle, and proper geometry when running ARB upper control arms. This is the spring ARB builds every MT64 heavy-load kit around.
Not all spring steel is the same. ARB uses X5K micro-alloyed spring steel, a high-strength, low-alloy grade engineered for superior fatigue resistance under the repeated compression cycles that off-road driving demands. Every OME 4007 spring goes through three manufacturing steps that extend service life beyond what typical automotive coil springs offer:
The springs are finished in a matte black powder coat for corrosion resistance in mud, water, and trail conditions. The driver side spring is labeled A and the passenger side is labeled B. Both carry the same free height and spring rate, with the A/B designation accounting for installation orientation.
Not included: Struts, shock absorbers, hardware, or mounting components. These springs require OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus struts (sold separately). ARB also recommends OME UCA0004 upper control arms (sold separately) for proper alignment geometry at 2.5 inches of lift. 4Runner models equipped with KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) require an additional trim spacer, ARB part LROR-304980-KIT or ARB-OME95PF5, on the front right.
All five springs below fit the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner (5th Gen) front with OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus struts. Select the spring that matches your constant added front load, the weight that is always on the front axle (bumper, winch, armor, etc.), not occasional passenger or cargo weight.
| Part Number | Load Rating | Added Front Weight | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4026 | No Load / Stock Weight | 0 lbs over factory | Stock-weight builds, no front accessories |
| 4001 | Light Load | 0-110 lbs over factory | Light accessories, smaller plastic bumper |
| 4005 | Medium Load | 110-220 lbs over factory | Mid-weight bumper, minor armor |
| 4007 (This Product) | Heavy Load | 220-330 lbs over factory | Steel bumper + winch; ARB-recommended default |
| 4000 | Ultra Heavy Load | 330+ lbs over factory | Max-weight builds with full front armor |
If you are unsure which spring to choose, ARB recommends the heavy-load 4007 for the majority of builds. The MT64 strut's five adjustable spring seat positions (each approximately 5mm apart) allow fine-tuning from 0 to 3 inches of total lift regardless of which spring you run.
The 4007 fits the vehicles listed below when used with OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus struts. Confirm your year, model, and drivetrain before ordering. The ARB4007 is designed for the 5th Generation 4Runner (2010+); earlier 4th Gen (2003-2009) 4Runner applications are not confirmed by ARB's official fitment data. On KDSS-equipped 4Runner models, an additional trim spacer is required (see What's Included section above).

The OME 4007 carries ARB's 3-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. ARB manufactures and distributes these springs directly from Australia under that warranty term.
Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, installing an aftermarket suspension component does not automatically void your Toyota factory warranty. A dealer or manufacturer must demonstrate that the aftermarket part directly caused the specific failure being claimed before they may deny a warranty repair. Keep your purchase receipt and installation documentation as a matter of record.

The OME 4007 springs replace the front coil springs within an OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus strut assembly. This is a suspension job that requires proper tools, a vehicle lift or quality jack stands, and experience with front strut removal. A professional alignment is required after installation.
Note: The OME MT64 strut offers 5 spring seat positions, each approximately 5mm (0.4 in) apart, allowing total front lift adjustment from roughly 1.5 to 3 inches when paired with the heavy-load 4007 spring.
Old Man Emu is the suspension engineering division of ARB Corporation, headquartered in Keilor East, Victoria, Australia. ARB has been designing and manufacturing 4WD suspension and accessories since 1975. OME suspension systems are engineered and produced entirely in Australia, using Australian-sourced materials and ARB's own manufacturing processes. Every coil spring in the OME lineup is developed specifically for the platform it fits, engineered to maintain correct suspension geometry, load balance, and ride quality rather than simply adding height. The ARB 4007 is one product in a complete 5th Gen 4Runner suspension ecosystem that includes the MT64 coilover strut, Nitrocharger Plus struts, upper control arms, and matched rear spring options.
Do these springs fit a stock 4Runner with factory struts?
No. The OME 4007 is a lift spring engineered to work within the OME MT64 or Nitrocharger Plus strut assembly. It is not compatible with OEM factory struts. If you are not upgrading your struts at the same time, this is not the correct part for your build.
How much lift do the OME 4007 springs actually give?
Approximately 2.5 inches (60mm) of front lift at the MT64 strut's default/middle spring seat position. Because the MT64 strut has 5 adjustable snap-ring positions spaced approximately 5mm apart, total front lift can range from roughly 1.5 to 3 inches depending on the position selected. Most builders running the heavy-load 4007 land at 2.5 inches with the standard setting.
Does this spring fit a 2024 Toyota 4Runner?
Yes. The 2024 Toyota 4Runner (5th Gen) is confirmed fitment. The 6th Gen 4Runner (2025+) is a different platform and requires different components; confirm fitment with ARB before ordering for any 2025 or newer model year.
Does the OME 4007 fit the Toyota FJ Cruiser?
Yes, for 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, V6 4.0L 1GR-FE, 4WD models. The FJ Cruiser shares the front suspension architecture of the 5th Gen 4Runner and accepts the same OME MT64 and Nitrocharger Plus strut and spring combination.
Does the OME 4007 fit the Toyota Tacoma?
The 4007 is listed as fitting 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma, all trims, V6 3.5L and 4-cyl 2.7L. Because Tacoma front suspension geometry differs from the 4Runner, confirm your specific trim and drivetrain with ARB directly before ordering for a Tacoma application.
What load is the OME 4007 designed to carry?
This spring is rated for a heavy load of 220-330 lbs of constant added front weight over factory. This covers builds running a full steel front bumper, a winch, and light armor. If your constant front load is under 220 lbs, consider the 4005 (medium, 110-220 lbs). If your load exceeds 330 lbs, look at the 4000 (ultra heavy). ARB recommends the heavy-load 4007 as the default spring for the vast majority of built 4Runner rigs regardless of exact accessory weight.
Will installing these springs void my Toyota factory warranty?
Not automatically. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your factory warranty simply because you installed an aftermarket suspension component. They must demonstrate that the aftermarket part specifically caused the failure being claimed. Retain your purchase and installation records. If a dealer threatens warranty denial over aftermarket suspension, request the denial in writing and reference the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
What struts do I need to run with the OME 4007?
These springs require either OME MT64 coilover struts or OME Nitrocharger Plus struts, both sold separately. The MT64 system is the current-generation product and offers the 5-position adjustable spring seat. The Nitrocharger Plus is the previous-generation OME strut and is also compatible. Do not install the 4007 on OEM Toyota struts.
My 4Runner has KDSS. Can I still use the OME 4007?
Yes, with an additional part. 4Runner models equipped with KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) require a trim spacer on the front right strut to maintain correct suspension geometry. The required spacer is ARB part LROR-304980-KIT or ARB-OME95PF5, sold separately. Do not install these springs on a KDSS 4Runner without this spacer.
Do I need an alignment after installing the OME 4007?
Yes. Any change to front suspension geometry requires a professional front-end alignment. ARB also recommends installing OME UCA0004 upper control arms alongside this spring set to maintain proper caster and camber angles at 2.5 inches of lift. Running the lift without UCAs may result in accelerated tire wear and compromised handling.
Are these springs made in the USA?
No. The OME 4007 is designed and manufactured in Australia by ARB Corporation, headquartered in Victoria, Australia. ARB does not manufacture these springs in the United States. The GS1 barcode prefix (933) on the UPC confirms Australian origin.
Is the OME 4007 sold as a single spring or a pair?
A pair. The set ships with two front coil springs: one driver side (labeled A) and one passenger side (labeled B). The price listed is for the complete set. Both springs share the same free height (15 in) and spring rate (588 lbf/in).
What is the difference between the 4007 and the 4001, 4005, or 4000?
All four springs fit the same 5th Gen 4Runner front with OME struts. The difference is load rating. The 4001 handles 0-110 lbs of added front load; the 4005 handles 110-220 lbs; the 4007 handles 220-330 lbs; and the 4000 handles 330+ lbs. Choose based on your actual constant added front weight. If you have a steel bumper and winch, the heavy-load 4007 is almost certainly the correct choice. The spring rate (588 lbf/in) is the same across the family; the difference is in the free height and coil geometry tuned for each load range.
