Upgraded Front Sway Bar Endlinks for WRX, STI, Impreza, and Forester

The PERRIN PSP-SUS-113 front endlink kit replaces the factory steel endlinks on your Subaru with a precision-machined 6061-T6 aluminum and polyurethane bushing assembly. OEM endlinks are small, lightweight steel units that flex under load and deteriorate quickly when paired with a stiffer aftermarket front sway bar. The PSP-SUS-113 uses 95a durometer polyurethane bushings pressed into anodized aluminum bodies to create a firm, rattle-free connection between the front sway bar and the lower control arm, reducing body roll and delivering sharper, more predictable turn-in response. Compatible vehicles include the 2002-2014 Subaru WRX, 2004-2014 WRX STI (excluding 2002-2007 wagon/hatchback body styles), 1993-2015 Subaru Impreza, and 2005-2013 Subaru Forester.

Features

  • Endlink bodies machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum for strength without excessive weight
  • Anodized black finish for corrosion resistance and clean appearance
  • 95a durometer custom polyurethane bushings provide firm, responsive feel without the harshness of solid spherical bearings
  • Non-adjustable, fixed-length design for direct bolt-on fitment with no modification required
  • Sold as a pair (2 endlinks) to replace both sides in one kit
  • Grade 8 hardware included for reliable clamping load and long service life
  • Yellow zinc-plated hardware resists corrosion in harsh environments
  • Low-profile design provides clearance for large-diameter aftermarket front sway bars
  • Backed by PERRIN Performance's 60-month limited warranty against material and workmanship defects

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PSP-SUS-113 fit both the WRX and WRX STI?

Yes. These PERRIN front endlinks are designed for the 2002-2014 Subaru WRX and the 2004-2014 WRX STI. Both models share compatible front suspension geometry, allowing a single endlink design to serve both platforms. The only restriction is body style: 2002-2007 wagon and hatchback variants are not compatible. Sedan fitment applies to 2002-2007 model years.

Are the PERRIN PSP-SUS-113 front endlinks adjustable?

No. These endlinks are fixed-length units engineered to factory endlink dimensions for each compatible application. Because they are designed as direct bolt-on replacements for stock geometry, no length adjustment is required for standard street or track use. If your vehicle uses a non-standard ride height or a sway bar with a different drop point, additional 3/8 inch washers are included to help align the endlinks perpendicular to the ground.

Why are the 2002-2007 WRX/STI wagons excluded from these front endlinks?

The 2002-2007 WRX and STI wagon body styles use a different front suspension geometry and endlink mounting configuration compared to the sedan versions of those same years. Starting with the 2008 model year, all WRX and STI body styles (sedan and hatchback) share the same front suspension design, so these endlinks fit all 2008-2014 WRX and STI variants without restriction.

What is the benefit of upgrading to PERRIN front endlinks over OEM?

OEM Subaru front endlinks use thin steel rods with rubber bushings that flex significantly under lateral load. This flex acts as a compliance buffer between the sway bar and the chassis, reducing sway bar effectiveness and introducing a lag in body roll response. These PERRIN endlinks replace the rubber bushing with a 95a durometer polyurethane unit pressed into a rigid 6061-T6 aluminum body, delivering more direct force transfer, sharper turn-in, and reduced body roll, particularly noticeable when a stiffer aftermarket front sway bar is also installed.

Do I need to upgrade my sway bar to use these front endlinks?

No. These endlinks install directly with the factory sway bar and will improve feel and durability on a stock setup. However, the upgrade is most noticeable when combined with a stiffer aftermarket front sway bar, because upgraded endlinks prevent flex from undermining the additional sway bar stiffness. The low-profile aluminum body design also provides additional clearance for larger sway bar diameters that can contact stock endlinks.

Will PSP-SUS-113 endlinks make noise on bumpy roads?

No, not under normal conditions. The 95a durometer polyurethane bushings are specifically chosen to replicate the feel of a spherical rod-end endlink without the metallic noise and harshness that often develops in ball-joint endlinks over time. The key to keeping the endlinks quiet is ensuring the hardware is torqued correctly at 35-40 ft-lbs and that the endlinks are oriented close to perpendicular to the ground when the vehicle is at ride height. PERRIN includes a grease packet to lubricate the bushing faces. Over time, if bushings develop minor noise, regreasing with Energy Suspension polyurethane-compatible grease will restore smooth, quiet operation.

Will installing PERRIN front endlinks void my Subaru factory warranty?

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your factory warranty simply because you installed an aftermarket part unless they can demonstrate that the aftermarket part directly caused the failure being claimed. Replacing endlinks is a routine suspension maintenance item. PSP-SUS-113 is a direct bolt-on that does not alter factory geometry. If you have a warranty concern, document the installation and retain the original parts. Consult your dealer or a qualified attorney for advice specific to your situation.

What tools are needed to install PERRIN front endlinks?

Installation requires a floor jack, jack stands or a vehicle hoist, a 14mm wrench or socket for the factory endlink nuts, a 5mm hex key to hold the center bolt if it spins during removal, a torque wrench calibrated for 35-40 ft-lbs, and standard hand tools. No drilling, cutting, or vehicle-specific specialty tools are required. A Subaru factory service manual (available at techinfo.subaru.com) is recommended for reference.

Installation Instructions

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Gather all required tools: floor jack, jack stands or hoist, 14mm wrench, 5mm hex key, torque wrench, and basic hand tools.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle using a floor jack and secure it on jack stands rated for the vehicle weight. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack.
  3. Locate the factory front endlinks connecting the front sway bar to the lower control arms on each side of the vehicle.
  4. Using a 14mm wrench, loosen and remove the nut at the top of one factory endlink (sway bar connection). If the center bolt rotates instead of the nut breaking free, insert a 5mm hex key into the end of the center bolt to hold it while turning the nut.
  5. Remove the nut at the lower connection of the same endlink (lower control arm), then remove the factory endlink. Repeat on the opposite side.
  6. Begin installing the new endlinks at the sway bar upper connection: slide one supplied 3/8 inch flat washer onto the bolt head, pass the bolt through the endlink bushing, and install a second flat washer. Apply a small amount of the included Energy Suspension grease to the bushing faces that contact the washers.
  7. Thread the assembled bolt-endlink-washer unit onto the sway bar mounting point. Add the supplied flat washer, then the split lock washer, then the Grade 8 nut. Leave hand-tight only at this stage.
  8. Install the lower control arm connection following the same washer sequence (flat washer on bolt head, bolt through endlink, flat washer, lock washer, nut). Grease the bushing faces. Leave hand-tight.
  9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 for the opposite side before torquing any fasteners.
  10. With both endlinks installed hand-tight, lower the vehicle to ride height. Visually confirm that each endlink is oriented close to perpendicular to the ground. If the endlink angles noticeably inward or outward, add one or two additional 3/8 inch flat washers (included) to the upper or lower connection to bring it closer to vertical. Failure to align endlinks near perpendicular will accelerate bushing wear.
  11. Raise the vehicle again and torque all four endlink bolts (upper and lower connections, both sides) to 35-40 ft-lbs. Tighten the two upper connections on both sides first, then move to the lower control arm connections.
  12. Lower the vehicle and take it for a short test drive. If any noise is heard from the front suspension, re-check all hardware for tightness before driving further.
