The R-T-80484 features an integrated drain tube system that channels water collected on the cover surface away from the bed and out through the bed rail drains. While no retractable cover is 100% watertight under all conditions, the FRC-4000 is designed to keep cargo dry in normal rain and weather. Always ensure drain tubes are clear for proper water evacuation.

The FRC-4000 introduces the EZ-Off full canister removal system, which is not available on the RetraxPRO MX. With the MX, the canister remains in the bed even when the cover is open, reducing usable bed space. The FRC-4000's Quick-Click removal allows you to take the entire canister out of the bed, providing 100% full bed access, 21% more than the MX and other traditional retractable designs.

The R-T-80484 features the TraxLatch locking handle that secures the cover closed using a key lock. When the canister is in place, the automatic canister latch also locks the leading edge of the cover, providing dual-point security for your cargo. Two keys are included with the cover.

Installation Instructions

1. Lower the tailgate and clear all items from the truck bed.
2. Unbox the cover and lay out all hardware components to verify all parts are present.
3. Position the spiral track side rails along each side of the bed rail, aligning the front of each rail flush with the front of the bed.
4. Hand-tighten the mounting clamps onto the bed rails at the locations indicated in the installation guide; do not fully tighten yet.
5. Confirm rails are level and squared across the bed, then fully tighten all clamps to the specified torque.
6. Thread the integrated drain tubes down through the bed rail drain holes on each side.
7. Set the canister assembly onto the spiral track rails at the front of the bed.
8. Engage the Quick-Click canister latches on both sides to lock the canister to the track system.
9. Extend and retract the cover several times to confirm smooth operation along the full track length.
10. Test the TraxLatch locking handle and confirm both key locks operate correctly.
11. Raise the tailgate and test cover operation with the tailgate closed and open.
