RockJock RJ-441001-101 is built for Universal ram-assist steering installations using a straight, undamaged 42 mm or 1 5/8-inch outside-diameter tie rod tube, a compatible 3/4-inch ram rod-end slot, and a 5/8-inch mounting bolt. Steering and suspension must cycle fully without contact or binding. Final compatibility depends on matching every dimension, mounting point, moving component, and clearance in the intended suspension system.

RockJock develops connected Antirock sway bar systems, serviceable Johnny Joints, steering components, and suspension hardware for trail control and articulation. Its replacement and universal components are specified by exact dimensions so builders can preserve safe geometry and serviceability.
It is the RockJock ram assist tie rod clamps described in the Specifications table for the stated dimension-based application.
Which tie rods accept this clamp?Use it only on a straight, undamaged 42 mm or 1 5/8-inch outside-diameter tie rod tube with sufficient mounting and travel clearance.
Must the tie rod be removed for installation? The two mating halves are designed to install around the tie rod in the vehicle without sliding the clamp over an end.
What ram rod end fits the slot? The machined slot is 3/4 inch wide and the supplied Grade 8 ram bolt is 5/8 inch, but the exact ram joint and misalignment requirements must be confirmed.
Can it be used with high-steer or low-steer layouts? The clamp is dimension-based and can be oriented in either type of layout when steering geometry, ram stroke, and full-travel clearance are verified.
Does lift height determine compatibility? No. Tube diameter, clamp position, ram geometry, steering stops, hose routing, and suspension clearance determine compatibility.
Does installation require tie-rod machining? No machining is required when the tube diameter, condition, and available straight clamping area match the stated requirements.
Why must steering and suspension be cycled? The clamp and ram must never contact or bind against the axle, differential, frame, track bar, stabilizer, hoses, or other components because that could lock the steering.
