The SPL RTAEL E9X brings track-proven rear toe link technology to non-M BMW 3 Series (E90/E91/E92/E93) and 1 Series (E81/E82/E87/E88) owners. The SPL RTAEL E9X replaces the OEM rubber-bushed toe link with a billet 2024 aluminum assembly featuring low-friction PTFE-lined FK Heim joints and a 6061-T6 aluminum eccentric lockout washer system. The eccentric lockout keeps your chosen toe setting fixed under all driving conditions, eliminating the gradual toe drift that OEM rubber bushings allow. Available at a price well below MSRP, these rear toe links are ideal for enthusiasts who want precise, adjustable rear toe on E-chassis BMWs without M-model pricing.

What is the SPL RTAEL E9X and what does it do?
These are billet aluminum rear toe links for non-M BMW E9X 3 Series and E8X 1 Series models. They replace the OEM rubber-bushed toe links to provide adjustable, deflection-free rear toe positioning.
What adjustment range does the SPL RTAEL E9X provide?
These toe links provide approximately +/-6mm of adjustment from the OEM toe position, giving alignment technicians a meaningful range to dial in rear toe for street alignment, autocross, or track use.
How does the eccentric lockout work?
After alignment is set, the 6061-T6 aluminum eccentric lockout washer is rotated to engage and clamped against the subframe bracket. This prevents the toe link from rotating under braking and cornering loads, keeping alignment consistent over time.
Does the SPL RTAEL E9X fit the BMW M3 or 1M Coupe?
No. The M3 and 1 Series M Coupe use different subframe mounting geometry. Those vehicles require the SPL RTAEL E9M, which is designed specifically for M-chassis E9X and E8X models.
Are these toe links safe for street driving?
Yes. The PTFE-lined FK rod ends provide smooth articulation that does not introduce harsh NVH at normal road speeds. The eccentric lockout keeps alignment stable, which many drivers find improves straight-line tracking compared to worn OEM rubber bushings.
Will installing the SPL RTAEL E9X void my factory warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, an automobile dealer or manufacturer cannot void a factory warranty simply because an aftermarket part was installed. The manufacturer must show that the aftermarket part directly caused the failure in question.
What is the torque spec for the subframe bolt?
Torque the subframe end bolt to 73.7 ft-lbs (100 Nm). Use OEM torque specifications at the knuckle mounting point. Always re-torque after the first heat cycle and verify alignment after any torque check.
How long do the PTFE rod ends last?
With normal street and track use, PTFE-lined FK rod ends are very durable. Inspect for play or roughness during annual brake service or any time the rear suspension is accessed. Replacement rod ends are available separately from SPL Parts.

Control arms are the key suspension linkages that connect the wheel hub and knuckle assembly to the vehicle frame, controlling wheel travel through both compression and droop cycles. Worn OEM control arms with loose ball joints or deteriorated bushings cause vague steering, tire wear, and handling inconsistency that only go away with replacement or upgrade.Popular UpgradesTubular steel upper control arms for lifted trucks and SUVs are the most popular upgrade in the control arm category, correcting the geometry compromised by a suspension lift and restoring proper caster angle and ball joint centering. Adjustable upper control arms allow alignment angles like caster and camber to be dialed in precisely after a lift or lowering modification. Replacement lower control arms with polyurethane or solid aluminum bushings improve response and longevity compared to worn OEM rubber mounts. Why do I need new control arms after a lift kit?A suspension lift changes the angle at which the OEM upp...
