The Truxedo 238101 TruXport is a soft roll up tonneau cover built for 6ft 6in beds on 1973 through 1996 Ford F-Series trucks. It clamps to the top of the bed rails, seals on all four sides and rolls forward to the cab so the whole bed stays usable when cargo is oversized.

Measure the bed from the inside of the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate before ordering. The 238101 cover is built for the 6ft 6in bed and does not fit Stepside or Flareside beds, and it is not designed to work with a bed rail cap that covers the clamping surface.

Does the tailgate still open with the cover fitted?Yes. The cover latches at the tailgate and cannot be opened from outside while the tailgate is locked, and the tailgate operates normally once the latches are released.

Installation Instructions
- Park the truck on a level surface, lower the tailgate and clean the top and inner surfaces of both bed rails.
- Unpack the 238101 cover and confirm the hardware and the vehicle specific instruction sheet are present before starting.
- Set the cover assembly on the bed with the roll positioned at the bulkhead and the tailgate end facing the tailgate.
- Attach the front rail to the bulkhead as shown in the instructions and check that it sits square to both bed sides.
- Lay the side rails along the bed rails and align them so the same overhang is present on each side.
- Fit three clamps per side under the bed rail lip and tighten them evenly so the rails stay parallel.
- Unroll the cover toward the tailgate and press the hook and loop seal onto the rails from the bulkhead back.
- Close the tailgate and engage the slam latch, then check that the latch releases and re-engages cleanly from both sides.
- Confirm the vinyl is even and free of wrinkles and that the tension system has pulled the surface flat.
- Roll the cover forward, secure it with the integrated straps and verify that the roll clears the rear window.
- Recheck all clamp fasteners after the first week of use and after any heavy load or wash cycle.
