Installation Instructions
- Safely raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel, tire, and brake assembly on the side being serviced.
- Remove the axle shaft from the axle tube per the applicable Dodge service procedure.
- Use a slide hammer with a wheel bearing puller to extract the old bearing from the axle tube.
- Remove the old axle seal from the tube bore.
- Clean the axle tube bore and inspect for wear or damage.
- Drive the new seal from the AK 6410 into the axle tube bore until fully seated, using a seal driver of the appropriate diameter.
- Press or drive the new wheel bearing from the AK 6410 into the axle tube bore until fully seated.
- Lightly coat the axle shaft bearing journal with clean axle fluid. Slide the axle shaft back into the tube carefully, avoiding damage to the new seal.
- Reinstall axle shaft retaining hardware. Torque to specification. Reinstall brake components, wheel, and tire. Lower vehicle. Verify rear axle fluid level.
