Installation Instructions

1. Safely raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel, tire, and brake assembly on the side being serviced.
2. Remove the axle shaft from the axle tube per the applicable Dodge service procedure.
3. Use a slide hammer with a wheel bearing puller to extract the old bearing from the axle tube.
4. Remove the old axle seal from the tube bore.
5. Clean the axle tube bore and inspect for wear or damage.
6. Drive the new seal from the AK 6410 into the axle tube bore until fully seated, using a seal driver of the appropriate diameter.
7. Press or drive the new wheel bearing from the AK 6410 into the axle tube bore until fully seated.
8. Lightly coat the axle shaft bearing journal with clean axle fluid. Slide the axle shaft back into the tube carefully, avoiding damage to the new seal.
9. Reinstall axle shaft retaining hardware. Torque to specification. Reinstall brake components, wheel, and tire. Lower vehicle. Verify rear axle fluid level.
