Installation Instructions

  1. Measure your existing axle shaft or measure the axle tube to determine the required shaft length.
  2. Cut YA F8-28-32.87 to the required length using an angle grinder or cold saw. Cut only the non-spline end.
  3. Deburr and chamfer the cut end to remove sharp edges.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and tire on the side being serviced.
  5. Remove the differential cover and drain the gear oil.
  6. Remove the pinion shaft lock bolt and pull out the pinion shaft.
  7. Push the old shaft inward to expose the C-clip. Remove the C-clip and slide out the shaft.
  8. Apply gear oil to the spline end of the cut shaft. Slide into the axle tube and engage the splines.
  9. Install the C-clip and pull the shaft outward to seat the clip against the side gear.
  10. Reinstall the pinion shaft and lock bolt to spec. Install the cover with new sealant and fill with gear oil.
  11. Reinstall the wheel and tire. Road-test and inspect for leaks.
