Installation Instructions

1. Safely raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and tire on the affected side.
2. Remove the brake caliper and rotor to expose the axle shaft area.
3. Remove the differential cover, drain the gear oil, and remove the pinion shaft lock bolt and pinion shaft.
4. Push the axle shaft inward toward the differential to expose the C-clip on the shaft groove.
5. Remove the C-clip with needle-nose pliers and slide the axle shaft out of the axle tube.
6. Apply a light coat of clean gear oil to the spline end of the new axle shaft.
7. Slide the new shaft into the axle tube, engaging the splines with the differential side gear.
8. Install the C-clip into the shaft groove. Pull the shaft outward to seat the clip against the side gear.
9. Reinstall the pinion shaft and torque the lock bolt to factory specification.
10. Clean the differential cover mating surface and reinstall with new RTV sealant. Fill with correct gear oil.
11. Reinstall the rotor, caliper, wheel, and tire. Torque all fasteners to specification.
12. Road-test and inspect for leaks after 50 miles.
