Engineering and Construction
This front hub uses a sealed ball bearing design with an alloy steel hub flange and a pre-installed ABS tone ring matched to the factory sensor gap. The four-bolt square flange pattern mates directly to the Ford Super Duty steering knuckle with no modifications required. Eight M14 x 1.5 wheel studs are included, and the assembly is grease-packed from the factory so no additional lubrication is needed during installation. This hub assembly fits 1999-2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty and 1999-2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty trucks with 4WD and 4-wheel ABS only. It does not fit 2WD or rear-wheel ABS configurations. Single Rear Wheel (SRW) only, not for Dually (DRW) applications. Also fits 2000-2005 Ford Excursion 4WD with 4-wheel ABS.

How long does it take to replace a front hub bearing on the 1999-2007 Super Duty?
For a shop-equipped technician, expect approximately 2-3 hours per side. The job requires removing the brake caliper and rotor, disconnecting the ABS sensor wire, and unbolting the four hub mounting nuts from the rear of the steering knuckle. The axle shaft does not need to be removed in most cases.
Does this fit both the driver and passenger side?
Yes. This hub assembly is the same on both sides of the front axle on compatible Ford Super Duty trucks. One assembly covers either the left or right front position.
Installation Instructions
- Safely raise the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Remove the brake caliper and bracket. Hang the caliper safely, do not let it hang by the brake line. Remove the brake rotor.
- Disconnect the ABS sensor wire connector and unclip it from any brackets along the knuckle.
- From the rear side of the steering knuckle, remove the four hub mounting nuts. The hub assembly may need to be tapped free with a rubber mallet.
- Thread new M14 x 1.5 studs into the new assembly and secure them using a double-nut method before installation.
- Apply wheel bearing grease to the needle bearing at the rear of the hub and to the O-ring in the steering knuckle bore.
- Route the ABS sensor wire through the dust shield, then carefully slide the hub assembly into the knuckle with the ABS port facing upward.
- Install and torque the four mounting nuts to 133 lb-ft in a criss-cross pattern. Reinstall the snap ring, washers, and locking hub.
- Reinstall the brake rotor, caliper bracket (166 lb-ft), and caliper. Reconnect the ABS sensor. Reinstall the wheel and torque lug nuts to 165 lb-ft.
- Lower the vehicle and pump the brake pedal to seat the pads before moving the vehicle.
