The AK M20-1PIECE from Yukon Gear is a precision axle bearing and seal kit designed for the AMC Model 20 rear differential using the 1-piece axle shaft design. The Model 20 differential was used extensively in Jeep CJ, Wagoneer, and J-series truck applications from the mid-1970s through the late 1980s. Installation Instructions

1. Safely raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and brake assembly from the side being serviced.
2. Remove the axle shaft retaining plate bolts and slide the 1-piece axle shaft out of the axle tube.
3. Use a slide hammer with axle bearing puller attachment to remove the axle bearing from the axle tube.
4. Remove the old inner and outer axle seals from the axle tube bore.
5. Clean the axle tube bore thoroughly. Inspect for wear or damage.
6. Drive the new inner seal from the AK M20-1PIECE into position in the axle tube using a seal driver.
7. Press or drive the new axle bearing from the AK M20-1PIECE into the axle tube bore until fully seated.
8. Install the new outer seal from the AK M20-1PIECE into the axle tube bore.
9. Lightly coat the axle shaft bearing surface with clean differential fluid. Slide the 1-piece axle shaft back into the tube, taking care not to damage the new seals.
10. Reinstall the axle shaft retaining plate bolts. Torque to manufacturer specification. Reinstall brake assembly and wheel. Lower vehicle and verify differential fluid level.
