Installation Instructions

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and tire on the side being serviced.
2. Remove the brake caliper, bracket, and rotor to expose the axle tube.
3. Remove the differential cover bolts and cover. Drain the differential oil.
4. Remove the pinion shaft lock bolt and pull out the differential pinion shaft.
5. Push the axle shaft inward to expose the C-clip at the inboard end. Remove the C-clip.
6. Slide the old axle shaft out of the axle tube.
7. Inspect the axle bearing and seal. Replace if worn.
8. Apply a light coat of gear oil to the spline end of YA G15286380.
9. Slide the new shaft into the tube and engage the splines. Install the C-clip and pull outward to seat it.
10. Reinstall the pinion shaft and torque the lock bolt to GM specification.
11. Install differential cover with new RTV and fill with correct gear oil.
12. Reinstall rotor, caliper, wheel, and tire. Torque to spec. Road-test and check for leaks.
